The applicating finger is used to remove the contact lens from an aqueous solution. The lens is then transferred from the applicating finger, and the applicating finger is dried by contact with the sterile, lint-free, absorbent paper. Thereafter, the lens is returned to the dry applicating finger for insertion of the contact lens onto the eye.
