Abstract: A field effect transistor according to the present invention has a semiconductor layer through which carriers injected from a source region travel toward a drain region, the semiconductor layer being formed from a composite material including an organic semiconductor material and nanotubes. The nanotubes may be nanotubes including plural ones joined with each other.
Abstract: A top sealing plate used for a battery includes a filter, a cap, and a valve body. The filter has a valve hole and upper opening; the cap has a convex portion and a flange portion disposed around the convex portion; the opening end of the upper opening of the filter has a bend portion; and the outer periphery end of the flange portion of the cap and the bend portion are caulked and joined to each other. The caulked portion includes both states of contact, that is, a strong contact portion and a weak contact portion, between the surface of the outer periphery end of the flange portion and the bend portion. By this configuration, the electric contact resistance between the cap and the filter will be greatly reduced. In addition, the contact resistance is stabilized at a low level. Further, the internal resistance of the battery is lowered, thereby improving the battery performance.

Abstract: The invention is a visual processing device having a hardware configuration that does not depend on achieving visual processing, wherein the visual processing device includes a spatial processing portion and a visual processing portion. The spatial processing portion performs predetermined processing with respect to an input signal IS that has been received as input, and outputs the result as an unsharp signal US. The visual processing portion outputs an output signal OS, which is the input signal IS after the visual processing, based on a two-dimensional LUT that lists a relationship between the input signal IS, which that has been received as an input, the unsharp signal US, and the output signal OS.
Abstract: The invention relates to a mobile terminal communicating resource requests for dedicated uplink channel resources in a mobile communication system. Further, the invention also relates to a method for communicating resource requests for dedicated uplink channel resources in a mobile communication system. To allow the serving cell to detect “DOWN” commands from non-serving cells during soft handover the invention suggests a new definition of criteria for setting the “happy bit” in the control information associated to data transmitted on dedicated uplink channels. According to these criteria the mobile terminal may not indicate an unhappy condition while ramping up resource utilization. Only if resources equivalent to the maximum serving grant are utilized, the transmission buffer status requires to and the power status of the terminal allows for the happy bit is set to indicate a unhappy condition.

Abstract: A quantization matrix used in inverse quantization is generated. A received bitstream includes a coded truncated quantization matrix. The coded truncated quantization matrix has first coded bits and second coded bits. The first coded bits include bits obtained by coding a transmitting part of quantization elements and the second coded bits includes bits obtained by coding an end code. The coded truncated quantization matrix is decoded until the second coded bits corresponding to the end code are read out, to obtain the transmitting part of quantization elements. At least one additional quantization element is obtained. A complete quantization matrix is generated, using the transmitting part of quantization elements and at least one additional quantization element, by ordering the transmitting part of quantization elements and at least one additional quantization element in a zig-zag scan.
