  • Publication number: 20110068714
Abstract: In an event of switching a DC output voltage of a boost chopper circuit from a first DC output voltage to a second DC output voltage, a boost chopper control circuit operates a boost chopper circuit intermittently. Therefore, a stop period of the boost chopper circuit is shortened as compared with a case where the boost chopper control circuit does not operate the boost chopper circuit intermittently. As a result, it becomes possible to supply a control power also when the DC output voltage of the boost chopper circuit is switched at a starting time of a high pressure discharge lamp while avoiding size and cost increases of a power supply circuit that supplies the control power.

Abstract: A nose hair trimmer that can be washed with a washing liquid without removing a blade unit from the trimmer. The nose hair trimmer, which improves washability, includes a main body case including an interior cavity, which accommodates a rotational inner blade body and collects nose hair clippings, and a disposal port, which communicates the cavity with the exterior. The rotational inner blade body includes an inner blade base, which supports inner blades and has two holding pieces functioning as vanes. Rotation of the rotational inner blade body rotates the holding pieces and produces a flow of washing liquid directed from slits in an outer blade via the interior cavity and toward the disposal port. The washing liquid washes the interior cavity and discharges nose hair clipping from the nose hair trimmer.

  • Publication number: 20110062870
Abstract: Provided is a power supply device, which is capable of coping with semiconductor light source loads to be set in various ways, and has high efficiency, in which a current to be supplied to each of the loads has a small ripple. The power supply device supplies power to a semiconductor light source load and lights the semiconductor light source load, and includes: a DC-DC converter; and a controller. The DC-DC converter includes an inductance element and a switching element, and performs voltage conversion by storing energy in the inductance element from an input power source when the switching element is on, and discharging the energy, the energy being stored in the inductance element, to a load side when the switching element is off. The controller controls ON/OFF operations of the switching element so that an output current of the DC-DC converter can be the same as a target value.

  • Patent number: 7898160
Abstract: Apparatus and method for modifying an object with electrons are provided, by which the object can be uniformly and efficiently modified with the electrons under a pressure substantially equal to atmospheric pressure even when having a relatively wide surface area to be treated. This method uses a cold-cathode electron emitter having the capability of emitting electrons from a planar electron emitting portion according to tunnel effect, and preferably comprising a pair of electrodes, and a strong field drift layer including nanocrystalline silicon disposed between the electrodes. The object is exposed to electrons emitted from the planar electron emitting portion by applying a voltage between the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 7892192
Abstract: A massaging device having an applicator driven by a plurality of driving unit to move along two or more different axes to generate a combined massaging action to be applied to the user's body. A controller holds individual speed data each defining a speed at which each of the driving units reciprocates the applicator along each of the different axes, and to control the driving units to reciprocate the applicator in accordance with the associated speed data. The controller controls the speed of the applicator along one of the axes independently from the speed of the applicator moving along another of the axes. Accordingly, the applicator's movements along the different axes can be free from being interfered with each other even being subject to a load, thereby assuring to continue the combined massaging action.
