  • Publication number: 20140207256
Abstract: An electric device includes operation unit, working unit, and a number-of-times detecting unit that counts the number of times of instructions being against energy savings. In addition, the device includes time measuring unit that measures time from when the number-of-times detecting unit starts the counting, and a controller that generates a signal to induce a modification of a first energy-saving pattern. When the time is within a first predetermined period, the controller generates a signal that requires the modification of the first energy-saving pattern into a more lenient second energy-saving pattern, with the time being from when time measuring unit starts the measurement to when the number of the times counted by the number-of-times detecting unit reaches a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 8755546
Abstract: A sound processing apparatus, a sound processing method and a hearing aid efficiently emphasize the sound of an utterer regardless of the distance between microphones. The sound processing apparatus outputs a first directivity signal in which the main axis of directivity is formed in the direction of the utterer and outputs a second directivity signal in which the dead zone of directivity is formed in the direction of the utterer. The sound processing apparatus calculates the level of the first directivity signal and the level of the second directivity signal, and determines the distance to the utterer based on the level of the first directivity signal and the level of the second directivity signal. The sound processing apparatus derives a gain to be given to the first directivity signal according to the result of the determination and controls the level of the first directivity signal by using the gain.

  • Patent number: 8571567
Abstract: There is disclosed a communication terminal device capable of eliminating collision of access request signals simultaneously transmitted from communication terminal devices in a local cell, preventing generation of interference signal in another cell adjacent to the local cell, and improving the throughput in the local cell. There is also disclosed a base station device for controlling the transmission power of the access permission signal so as to prevent generation of an interference signal in another cell adjacent to the local cell. In this device, a use sub-channel selection unit (206) has a correspondence table between the reception quality of the pilot signals divided into classes and the sub-channel allocated to the classes. According to the correspondence table, the use sub-channel selection unit (206) selects a sub-channel group of RACH correlated to the measurement result of the reception quality of the pilot signals reported from the reception quality measurement unit (205).

  • Patent number: 8119429
Abstract: A p-type GaN guiding layer, an n-type GaN layer, and an n-type AlGaN current blocking layer are sequentially formed over an active layer, and then part of the current blocking layer is etched by using an alkali solution and irradiating the part with light to form an opening. Thereafter, a second p-type GaN guiding layer is formed on the current blocking layer to cover the opening. In this structure, the GaN layer has a smaller energy gap than the AlGaN current blocking layer.
