Abstract: A collapsible container for the storage and transport of flowable material. The container is provided with a continuous sheet of side panels secured into stepped engagement with itself to define an interior. Foldable support brackets are secured to the side panels to maintain the side panels at an angled orientation relative to the side panels of the container and to prevent distortion of the side panels by hydrostatic pressure toward a circular orientation. The support brackets define an opening in the top of the collapsible container through which a fill head may engage a top cap of a flexible liner provided within the collapsible container, to fill the liner with flowable material.

Abstract: A collapsible container having thick corrugated walls with double crease corners. The double crease corners define two 45° angles instead of one 90° to allow the container to maintain a generally rectangular shape and reduce the tendency of the side panels to bias outward when the container is filled with a flowable material.

Abstract: A collapsible container having thick corrugated outer walls with two generally U-shaped inserts provided within the corrugated walls. The inserts are reversed and offset from one another with one panel of each insert being secured to an interior panel of the collapsible container. Having two of the three panels of each insert unsecured to the interior panels allows the collapsible container to be more easily collapsed for storage and transport.

Abstract: An interlocking container for the storage and transport of flowable material. The container is provided with a plurality of interlocking top panels. The panels are provided with catches that alternately engage the top and bottom of adjacent panels to prevent the panels from becoming dislodged from one another and to maintain the side panels at an angled orientation relative to the side panels of the container, to prevent distortion of the side panels by hydrostatic pressure toward a circular orientation. The panels define an opening in the top of the collapsible through which a fill head may engage a top cap of a flexible liner provided within the collapsible container, to fill the liner with flowable material.

Abstract: A lightweight, collapsible container is provided for storing and transporting flowable materials on an irregularly shaped rectangular pallet. The container is provided with interlocking panels across the bottom, which are maintained in position by hydrostatic pressure generated by flowable material positioned within a flexible bag provided within the container. The top of the container is allowed to orient into its hydrostatically biased equilateral orientation, and provided with an equilateral octangular lid. This construction maintains the container bottom width substantially less than its length, with a minimum of support structures and materials.

Abstract: A collapsible bag comprising a flexible outer skin, defining an interior and a substantially unobstructed opening. Reinforcing material is provided around said opening to define a pocket containing a rigid support, which allows the bag to hydrostabilize when filled with a fluid.

Means are provided for coupling the top of the rigid support to the flexible outer skin and for securing the bottom of the rigid support against substantial movement relative to the flexible outer skin.

Abstract: A bulk container for flowable materials includes flexible inner and outer tubular members. The lower edge of the outer member and the lower edge of the inner member are joined together along a bottom peripheral seam. Vertical support members are inserted into a plurality of pockets around the container so that the container is automatically self-stabilizing.

Abstract: A container includes a flexible liner for holding fluent material, a plurality of substantially vertical rigid support walls spaced around the periphery of the liner, and a flexible skin interconnecting the walls and encircling the liner so as to laterally constrain and support the liner when fluent material is added. The container can include a bottom wall under the liner and connected to some of the support walls. Furthermore, a top platform can be removably secured over the liner so as to rest on top of the support walls. This provides the strength and rigidity to make the container system stackable. The support walls can be removably disposed in pockets or a sleeve in the flexible skin.

Abstract: Apparatus for securing a container to a buffering mechanism with a binding member. The buffering mechanism has a plurality of cleats at the corners thereof, each with an aperture for receiving a banding member which is threaded through the cleats and wrapped around the contained material in a "saddle-strapping" pattern. In another embodiment, the buffering member includes a platform with holes therethrough, and the banding member is threaded through the holes to pass under the platform and wrap around the container to secure it thereto.

Abstract: A fluent container and a method of using the fluent container are provided to fixedly and safely secure the discharge fitting of the bag and, therefore, the bag which contains the fluent material, to the bottom of the container. The container has a pre-use configuration convenient for storage which includes a flattened side member and nested cover and bottom members with the bag contained therebetween.
