Abstract: A device is provided for retaining a tendon, such as, but not limited to, a flexor digitorum tendon onto an associated bone such as, but not limited to, the plantar aspect of a proximal phalangeal base for correction of a toe contracture. The tendon retention device is defined by a tack and a sleeve. The tack is configured for press-fit or instrument aided reception into the tendon and associated bone to retain the tendon against the associated bone. The sleeve has an internally threaded bore for threaded reception onto a threaded shaft of the tack from the opposing side of the associated bone. The sleeve further has a head with an anti-loosening feature or anti-loosening features such as, but not limited to, tangs and/or cutouts, that engage the associated bone to aid in preventing the sleeve from working loose from the bone and/or unthreading from the tack.
Abstract: Resected bone and/or tissue removal instruments and related methods are disclosed. The instruments include a first elongate member including a first head portion with a front edge and a first handle portion. The instrument further includes second elongate member rotatably coupled to the first elongate member at a first rotation point, the second member including a second handle portion and an end portion. The instrument also includes a third elongate member rotatably coupled to the first elongate member at a second rotation point, the third member including a second head portion and an end portion. The end portions of the second and third members are rotatably coupled at a third movable rotation point positioned between the first and second rotation points. The second head portion includes an interior surface with a front cutting tooth defining a free end of the second head portion.

Abstract: Implants, devices, systems, and methods for achieving ligament fixation are disclosed. An implant is disclosed that includes a head member, a breakaway portion, and an anchor member. The anchor member may be coupled to the head member by the breakaway portion. The implant may be designed to fail in fatigue at the breakaway portion. The breakaway portion may thereby extend between a first end of the anchor member and a second end of the head member. The breakaway portion may comprise a circumferential groove. The groove may be configured to concentrate stress forces in situ such that a fatigue failure/fracture occurs at the groove. Insertion instruments for inserting an implant for ligament fixation are also disclosed. Methods of using an implant for achieving ligament fixation are also disclosed.
