Patents Assigned to Parmatic Filter Corporation
  • Patent number: 4698078
Abstract: Separator assembly for an air duct, particularly but not exclusively an air intake duct of a turbine device, for removing particulate matter entrained in air passing through the air duct. The separator assembly comprises a separator for removing particulate matter entrained in air passing through the separator, and a mounting member for mounting the separator relative to the air duct so that the separator is moveable between a first position in which the separator is arranged so that air passing through the air duct passes through the separator, and a second position in which the separator is arranged so that air passing through the air duct bypasses the separator. A holding and power applying device is provided for holding the separator in the first position and for applying power to the separator to force the separator to move from the first position to the second position.

  • Patent number: 4312645
Abstract: A filtering assembly for an air intake duct for a turbine device for normally removing particulate matter entrained in the air being introduced to the turbine device through the air duct. The improved filtering assembly comprises a filter element for removing particulate matter entrained in air passing therethrough which is mounted in the air duct so that at least a section of the filter element is movable between a filtering position and bypass position. More particularly, the filter element is mounted in the air duct so that when it is in the filtering position, substantially all of the air passing through the air duct passes through the filter element and so that when it is in the bypass position, a substantial amount of the air passing through the air duct bypasses the filter. A suitable sensing device is provided for sensing the pressure differential of the air across the filter element in the air duct and a clamping device is provided which normally clamps the filter element in the filtering position.

  • Patent number: 4300918
Abstract: An improved method for removing particles entrained in air, particularly moisture particles which may contain salt or other contaminating matter. The improved method is particularly useful in connection with marine applications for removing moisture particles from air being introduced to a gas turbine on a marine vehicle. The improved method includes the steps of passing the air at a velocity greater than 20 ft. per second through an inertia separating device for inertially removing at least a portion of the larger sized particles in the air to provide partially processed air, and then passing the partially processed air at a velocity which is greater than a predetermined velocity through an impact filtering pad for removing particles entrained in partially processed air. The impact filtering pad comprises at least one layer of a plurality of fibers, each of the fibers having a diameter greater than 0.001 inches and less than 0.
