Abstract: A method of manufacturing an insulation product is provided that includes collecting a plurality of inorganic fibers comprising at least 25 wt. % of bi- and tri-valent metal oxides on a substrate, applying a formaldehyde-free aqueous binder composition that includes a nitrogen-based protective agent to the collection of inorganic fibers, removing the nitrogen-based protective agent by heating the binder-coated inorganic fibers; and curing the aqueous binder composition via an esterification reaction.

Abstract: An apparatus for and a method of manufacturing mineral wool are disclosed, wherein multiple fiberizing devices form discrete groups of mineral wool fibers that are separately conveyed to a common collection device. When the groups of mineral wool fibers are conveyed through separate channels, the channels can differ by shape and/or size, as well as location relative to the collection device.
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for manufacturing mineral wool. The apparatus includes means (1) for producing molten mineral material, at least one fiberizing device (3) for forming fibres, into which fiberizing device the molten mineral material is fed (2) and by which fibres (12) are formed. The fiberizing device (3) comprises, rotationally arranged around a vertical axis (15), at least one fiberizing plate (13) having a vertical peripheral edge, into which are formed numerous small-sized holes (14), through which the molten material is led by centrifugal force to form fibres (12). Into the fiberizing device (3) are arranged elements to produce a vertical flow of blowing medium (16) to be led around the fiberizing plate (13), the flow causing the fibres (12) to turn downwards and, at the same time, to thin. Downstream the fiberizing device (3) is arranged a collection device (6), into which the formed fibres (12) are led and collected into a mat-like material.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a mineral wool insulation slab for facade renovations, comprising a rigid insulation slab or lamella having and outer and an inner side, wherein the outer side of the slab comprises an outer layered surface and the innerside of the slab is a mechanically and/or chemically softened layer of the one and same insulation slab. The invention is further directed to a method for manufacturing of such an insulation slab.

Abstract: Mineral wool pipe insulation, the mineral wool thereof includes a mix of mineral wool fibers and at least a curable binder being cured. The pipe insulation includes at least two separate elongated partial sections of mineral wool that are inter-connectable to each other around a pipe or container to form an insulation layer encompassing the pipe or container. Each separate partial section being inter-connectable by being provided with interconnecting means along at least two thickness-wise edges thereof. A method of manufacturing mineral wool pipe insulation includes forming each separate partial section of mineral wool by sawing or cutting from a cured block of mineral wool, or by curing a mixture of loose mineral wool fibers and a curable binder in a mold.
