  • Patent number: 6533068
Abstract: The combination ladder of this invention includes a pair of conventional ladder sections, being a first ladder section and a second ladder section. The two ladder sections being essentially the same. The ladder sections are connected together at one end with two upper connection assemblies and at the other end with two lower connection assemblies. Each connection assembly has a connector which are located in one of either a first position for providing a ladder configuration which allows the combination ladder to be used as an extension ladder or a second position for providing a ladder configuration which allows the combination ladder to be used as a stepladder. A pair of brace assemblies are stored along the first ladder section for the extension ladder and deployed for the stepladder. By simply moving the two upper connectors and the two lower connectors from the first position to the second position converts the configuration to conform with the intended use of the ladder.

  • Patent number: 6206210
Abstract: A display/storage rack system for hangings. The hangings are each carried by an elongated hanging member. Commonly the hanging is draped over the elongated hanging member. The rack system is affixed to a vertical support surface and supports a first end of the elongated hanging member as a cantilever; with an optional fixed bracket device supporting a second end of the elongated hanging member for displaying the hangings. A plurality of pivotal support devices of the rack system include offset arms for supporting and displaying the hangings in the rack in spaced apart vertical planes so that they do not contact one another and their top edges are at a different elevation. Hangings are displayed so that a top portion of each hanging is visible from the front of the storage rack. A pivot support rod of the rack system supports the pivotal support devices so that it can be rotated about a pivotal axis of the rack system.

  • Patent number: 6182347
Abstract: The present invention provides a disconnect tool with a pair of fixtures having a central tool aperture or bore. The fixtures of the tool are placed around a second fitting of a spring-lock® type connector of a tubular conduit or pipe to be disconnected along a tubular axis of the conduit. The fixtures also provide a cage aperture to receive a cage portion of a first fitting of the connector. A pair of annular projecting collars extend between the tool aperture and the cage apertures. A pair of handles each have a lever arm and a shaft that is rotationally retained in a cylindrical bore of a respective fixture. The shafts of the handles each have a cutout forming a prying surface exposed to the cage bore within the respective fixture. In a first operating mode the fixtures are displaced along the tubular axis so that the collars inter a chamber of the cage and contact a circular locking spring within the cage.

  • Patent number: 5671520
Abstract: The disassembly of conduit fittings in vehicular sub-systems becomes very difficult and time consuming as a result of their location and the effect of corrosion. Various fittings have been designed to make this maintenance task less work for the mechanic. However, special tools must frequently be designed to provide for the hard to access locations and frozen joints that frequently exist. The combination tool of this invention provides such a tool for a common conduit fitting used in fluid piping sub-systems of vehicles. In particular, the air conditioning systems of automobiles can have a number of these fittings. The combination tool of this invention has three handles. Two of the handles, along with a jaw and collar fixture for each handle, form pliers to grip one female connector portion of the fitting. A collar portion of the jaw and collar fixture also displaces a retainer spring in a connector flange of the conduit fitting.
