Patents Assigned to Patent-Treuhand-Gesellschaft fuer Elektrische Gluehlampen mbH
  • Patent number: 5404077
Abstract: A high-pressure discharge lamp with a ceramic discharge vessel (8) compri a tubular current feedthrough (10) of a metal whose thermal coefficient of expansion is smaller than that of the ceramics. Gas-tightness is obtained by an internal support member (16) located within the current feedthrough (10).

  • Patent number: 5363007
Abstract: To provide a fill in a low-power, high-pressure discharge lamp, which is capable of emitting light within a warm white light (WDL) color or neutral white light (NDL) color, that is, in the ranges of between about 2600 to 4600K, the fill has a relative relationship of sodium halide to scandium halide between 5:1 and 24:1, a relationship of sodium halide to thallium halide of 25:1 to 73:1, and a heat damming or heat retention or reflection coating (15, 16) is located at the end caps of the generally bulbous discharge vessel to provide for a cold spot temperature (Tc) of at least 800.degree. C., and preferably higher.

  • Patent number: 5336969
Abstract: To reduce the transmissivity of glass, and particularly quartz glass, espally highly thermally loaded quartz glass of discharge lamps or halogen incandescent lamps, a coating or glaze is applied to the bulb and adjacent regions which includes, as an ultraviolet light absorption, a glaze of a mixture of cerium fluoride (CeF.sub.3) and aluminum trioxide (Al.sub.2 O.sub.3) and silicon dioxide (SiO.sub.2), in a relationship, by weight, of about 3:1, preferably about 2:1. The weight relationship of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 to SiO.sub.2 in the mixture is about 1.7:1. The mixture can be applied in form of an alcohol or alcohol-like suspension, after grinding to a grain size of less than 300 mesh, by spraying, dripping on, painting or the like, subsequent drying for 10 seconds, and firing in a hydrogen/oxygen flame or in an ordinary gas flame for about 2 seconds, while axially rotating the lamp bulb.

  • Patent number: 5282377
Abstract: When drawing wire, and particularly wire of highly tenacious material which s difficult to deform, such as tungsten or molybdenum, through a die (4), lubricant is applied to the surface of the wire (1) by generating a curtain or sheet of lubricant (6, 16) emitted from a slit-like nozzle (14), and passing the wire essentially transversely through said curtain or sheet of liquid lubricant. Preferably, the wire is preheated before being passed through said sheet of lubricant so that the lubricant will dry on the preheated wire from the inside out prior to the wire being heated to optimum drawing temperature in advance of being pulled through the die. Suitable preheating temperatures are from 100.degree. C. to 500.degree. C., and the thickness of the curtain of lubricant can be between 0.05 to about 0.3 mm, with a wire thickness in the order of about 0.1 mm, permitting drawing speeds which can vary widely and can be about double of previously obtainable drawing speeds.
