Abstract: An electrode system with a new type of join, as well as an associated lamp including this foil and a process for producing the join are described. In an electrode system for the lamp industry, a Mo foil (4) is joined to a pin-like joining partner (2) by the foil (4) and/or the pin-like joining partner (2) being coated (5, 8) with ruthenium. The pin is flattened (3) at the end. A contactless welding process produces a spot fusion welded join (6) which is surrounded by an annular high-temperature soldered join (7). This type of join is insensitive to embrittlement.
