  • Patent number: 9626760
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method to align and merge differently exposed digital images to create a HDR image. In the present system, all the modules starting from the receiving module to fusion module are configured to produce a HDR image with better color purity and sharpness. Each captured image in the system is configured to operate in the HSI color space. The alignment module is configured to align the pixels of each image in a pyramid shaped resolution structure to derive alignment vectors for one or more regional partitions of each image across one or more levels of the pyramid. The system is configured such that, the saturation component in the HSI color space is used to pick the color purity of pixels and intensity channel is used to weigh the sharpness of pixels of each of the differently exposed captured images.

Abstract: The present invention relates to system and method for minimizing motion artifacts during the fusion of an image bracket based on preview frame analysis. The system 100 mainly comprises a preview frame capture module 101 to render preview image frames typically invariant in exposure, focus and other related capture parameters at video rate. The system 100 also comprises a scene dynamic range assessment module 103 to assess the extent of dynamism of scene subjects and intensity expanse by sampling the scene at periodic intervals through preview image frames. The system 100 uses the calculated measure of dynamism and intensity distribution to control the parameters used for detecting and preventing motion artifacts during the fusion of subsequently captured bracket of images nuanced in capture parameters such as exposure or focus.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a device and method for processing video data using HEVC universal decoder. The HEVC universal decoder is designed to address the parallel execution issues and bandwidth issues when there is a decoded data transfer among the processors. The decoder is designed to achieve better core utilization with reduced memory bandwidth. The decoder is designed to work in two partitions to obtain the decoded YUV pictures output from a bit-stream. The invention provides for reduction in the number of processors used in the first partition of the HEVC universal decoder without affecting the decoding rate of the bit-streams. In second partition, decoding of one data-frame is carried out simultaneously by four processors. Both the partitions complete their respective decoding processes in equal amount of time.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and system for real-time video encoding using pre-analysis based preliminary mode decision. The system includes a sequence classifier module 200 to pre-analyze an input video sequence to map the video sequence into one of the pre-defined classes based on statistical parameters. The sequence classifier module 200 includes an activity measuring unit 202 to receive the inputting video sequence and a time delayed version of the video sequence, a statistics collector 204 to collect activity of the video sequence at frame-level and a sequence categorizer 206 to map the input sequence to a prior-defined classes based on the activity statistics of the current frame. The system also includes at least one threshold decider 210 to provide the likely modes of encoding techniques to each of the pre-analyzed video sequence based on the pre-defined classes.
