  • Patent number: 6027040
Abstract: A nozzle head includes a nozzle carrier so mounted to a stationary housing as to allow rotation thereof about a longitudinal axis by a recoil action caused by pressure water exiting spray nozzles accommodated in the nozzle carrier, and a hollow shaft rotatably supported in the housing and secured to the nozzle carrier. The hollow shaft has a central passage for conducting pressure water to the spray nozzles; and has a pressure water connection proximate end face which is supported by a first sealing disk of highly wear-resistant material, e.g. ceramics. The first sealing disk is connected to the hollow shaft via a mounting so as to conjointly rotate with the nozzle carrier and hollow shaft during operation of the nozzle head. The shaft-distal end face of the first sealing disk bears upon a second stationary sealing disk which is also made of a highly wear-resistant material, e.g. ceramics, and received in a mounting which is fixed via a seal ring in the housing.

  • Patent number: 5848880
Abstract: A high-pressure plunger pump assembly, in particular for working pressures above 2000 bar, includes a housing, a cylinder received in the housing and defining a working space which has an expanded area along a section thereof for receiving a sleeve therein, and a plunger slidably moveable in the working space of the cylinder and in the sleeve and being suitably operated by a drive for reciprocating movement. The sleeve has one end closer to the plunger drive and formed with an annular flange. A suction valve communicates with the cylinder for admitting fluid from a suction chamber into the working space, and a pressure valve communicates with the cylinder for expelling fluid from the working space during a pressure stroke of the plunger, with a seal being positioned in a transitional area from the annular flange to the cylinder between the working space and the suction chamber.

  • Patent number: 5694976
Abstract: A pump for distributing water at an extremely high-pressure to several appliances. Every appliance can connect and disconnect independently and has associated with it a device that diverts the water trapped in it when it disconnects. The object is to minimize wear in the water-diversion device. The device accommodates a constricted section in the form of an annular space that the water trapped in the appliance can escape through. Such pumps are employed for cleaning a wide range of articles.

  • Patent number: 5351714
Abstract: A safety valve comprises a valve seat and a spring-loaded first control piston that is axially moveable with respect to the valve seat. The valve seat and the first control piston each having a central channel for a branched-off portion of a transported pressure medium. The first control piston central channel has an annular surface that is in fluid communication with the pressure medium. A spring is supported at one axial end by a flange of the first control piston and at an opposite axial end by a switching element. When the pressure medium reaches a predetermined operating pressure, the switching element is moved axially, through the release of an arresting mechanism, to that side which faces away from the valve seat to relieve the fluid pressure.

  • Patent number: 5147189
Abstract: A maximum-pressure plunger plump has, coaxial with its longitudinal axis, a compression valve and a suction valve. It has a sleeve that floats on a plunger. The sleeve rests on the end facing the head of the pump on an inset. the inset is provided with a seat area for the body of the suction valve and with suction channels. The sleeve has a bushing. The suction valve is in a form of a disk. It has a spring-loaded annular body that rests on the valve-seat area that the suction channels open out of in the insert in the pump head. The plunger's bushing (9) extends to th eend of the sleeve (7) that faces the head (2) of the pump with its face against the insert (12) and in that a sealing sleeve (15) that overlaps the area or seam of impact between the insert and the sleeve is accommodated in the flow channel between the bushing and the insert.

  • Patent number: 4741680
Abstract: A high-pressure plunger pump includes a pump housing centered on an axis and including a main body having two axially spaced ends, and a pump head secured to one of the ends of the main body. A plunger coaxially extends into the pump housing and a sleeve is floatingly supported on the plunger. The sleeve has two end portions one of which is closer to the pump head than the other, converges toward the pump head and has an axial end face. An insert body is positionally secured in the pump housing at the one end portion of the sleeve and bounds a circumferentially extending annular suction channel with this one end portion. The insert body includes an annular shoulder having a substantially axially facing seating surface. Pressure and suction valves are coaxially arranged within the housing.

  • Patent number: 4173435
Abstract: A plunger pump includes a pump housing and a plunger extending into a pumping chamber of the pump housing. A sleeve valve is mounted only on the plunger for reciprocation therewith and also for displacement longitudinally of the plunger and subdivides the pumping chamber, when in its closed position, into a suction space without, and pressure space within, the sleeve valve. An inlet communicates with the suction space, and an outlet with the pressure space, the latter having a one-way valve therein which opens during the pumping stroke of the plunger. A flexible diaphragm ring extends across a spacing between the pump housing and the sleeve valve and is sealingly connected to these components. The diaphragm ring is flexible and urges the sleeve valve toward its closed position. A liquid seal may be accommodated in a compartment separated from the suction space by the diaphragm ring.

  • Patent number: 4146355
Abstract: A housing has an interior provided with two communicating compartments, and valve seats are located between these compartments. An inlet communicates with one and an outlet with the other of the compartments. A pressure valve is located in the other compartment and sealingly engages one of the valve seats unless the pressure in the one compartment exceeds the pressure in the other compartment. A plunger is reciprocable in the one compartment toward and away from the valve seat between a suction stroke and an expelling stroke. A suction valve member slidably engages the plunger and is guided solely by the same. The suction valve member sealingly engages the valve seats and moves out of engagement with the same to travel with the plunger during the suction stroke. An abutment limits the travel of the suction valve member during the suction stroke of the plunger.

  • Patent number: 4102611
Abstract: A plunger pump has a pump housing defining a pumping chamber into which a plunger extends for reciprocation between a retracted and an extended position. A sleeve valve is mounted on the plunger for displacement longitudinally thereof and for limited reciprocation therewith between an open position and a closed position in which it subdivides the pumping chamber into a pumping space within, and a suction space without, the sleeve valve. Inlet and outlet ports communicate with the suction and pumping spaces respectively. A sealing sleeve is mounted on a portion of reduced diameter of the plunger and defines with the latter a compensating space which communicates with a region of the interface between the sleeve valve and sealing sleeve at which the pressure of the fluid escaping from the pumping space through the interface is lower than the pumping pressure existing in the pumping space during the pumping stroke of the plunger.
