Patents Assigned to Paul Hartmann Aktiengesellschaft
  • Publication number: 20100022151
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for producing a web of an elastic non-woven composite material including the following steps: Feeding and delivering a first non-woven layer in a longitudinal direction; feeding and delivering a plurality of elastic filaments; connecting the plurality of elastic filaments to a first side of the non-woven layer to form a composite material; at least in some regions overstretching of the first non-woven layer in the longitudinal direction by feeding the composite material through the gap of a pair of profiled, intermeshing stretching rollers, by which the composite material is stretched in the longitudinal direction, wherein the elastic filaments are arranged in the non-woven composite material such that they are substantially oriented in the longitudinal direction, so that they have at most about 10 intersecting points with each other per cm2.

  • Publication number: 20090275911
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a disposable absorbent hygiene item in the form of a pair of knickers, said item comprising a central absorption part, an outer envelope forming a base structure comprising a waist edge which is closed all the way round in the peripheral direction and forms an opening for the waist, a rear part and a front part comprising longitudinal lateral edge sections, and a connecting region arranged between the front part and the rear part and forming the leg openings.

  • Patent number: 5062838
Abstract: An absorbent disposable article including an absorbent body covered, on one side by an impervious sheet, and on the other side, by a porous cover layer. An impermeable protective layer, having a coarse side and a smooth side, is provided along the edges of the porous cover layer, with the coarse side facing the porous cover layer. The impermeable protective layer is pressure bonded to the porous cover layer to produce a liquid impervious barrier.

  • Patent number: 5013382
Abstract: In an absorbent disposable article, such as in particular a diaper, in which an absorbent body is covered on one side by a liquid-impermeable protective sheet and on the opposite side by a porous layer, certain edge areas of the porous cover layer should be provided with a liquid-impermeable protective layer. This protective layer is formed as a prefabricated impervious sheet and possesses, before being placed on cover layer, on one side a smooth and the other side an extremely coarse surface. The impervious sheet serving as the protective layer penetrates essentially exclusively with its coarse surface areas inside the cover layer. Through the smooth side of this impervious sheet, an absolute imperviousness is assured. Because of the physical bond, which forms between the impervious sheet and the cover layer, the impervious sheet can be formed extremely thin, i.e., a minimum amount of material is sufficient for the impervious sheet.

  • Patent number: 4610751
Abstract: The present invention provides a process and apparatus for the separation of strip sections from a first moving material web, for the subsequent application of these strip sections on discrete areas lying at a distance one behind the other of a likewise moving second material web, wherein the predetermined distance is achieved by moving the separated strip sections apart. In the case of a transfer of the strip section to the second material web, the strip sections and the second material web are kept at an equal constant speed during the entire transfer process. The apparatus for carrying out the process comprises a multiplicity of conveying elements rotating on a circular periphery. In the peripheral direction, the conveying elements have a distance to one another which changes during each rotation. A bipartite lever rod system takes care of this change of distance between the conveying elements which system always connects a conveying element with a common driving disc.

  • Patent number: 4246900
Abstract: A diaper construction is disclosed including a pair of elastic leg seal members extending longitudinally of the diaper adjacent each side edge thereof, the leg seal members being operable between expanded and contracted conditions, respectively, and moisture-responsive devices initially maintaining the leg seal members in their expanded conditions, whereby when the diaper is worn by a user and the leg seal members become moisturized, the moisture-responsive devices are operable to release the leg seal members, whereby the leg seal members contract into sealing engagement with the user's leg.
