Abstract: A cabinet with double doors consisting of an inner door and an outer door. The inner door is mounted in such a way as to swing on the hinge axis of the shell of a refrigerator or freezer inside the cabinet and open or close the appliance. A coupling mechanism between the outer and inner doors and the shell of the appliance is associated with the hinges. The coupling mechanism has a drive assembly mounted on the inner door in such a way as to pivot around an axis parallel to that of the hinges. The coupling mechanism is coupled to the shell of the appliance and to the outer door in such a way that the outer door is forced to one side and away from the axis of the hinges when the inner door is opened.

Abstract: A furniture hinge for two housing parts has a housing mounted on one furniture part, a hinge arm mounted on the other furniture part, two pivotable hinge plates pivotally connecting the housing with the hinge arm, a spring which forms a locking device, a cylinder-and-piston unit having a piston pivotally mounted on the hinge arm and a brake cylinder slidably movable relative to the piston under the action of a cam lever mounted on one of the hinge plates and arranged to move the brake cylinder relative to the piston, wherein the sliding surface of the brake cylinder and/or the piston has a friction-increasing coating.

Abstract: A furniture hinge has a hollow housing connectable with one part of furniture, a hinge arm connectable with another part of furniture, at least two links extending between and pivotally connecting the hinge arm with the housing of which one link is pivotal relative to the housing, and at least two link pins each having a curved portion and a straight portion wherein the curved portions of the link pins support the one link for pivoting relative to the housing, and the straight portions of the link pins extend through the interior of the housing.

Abstract: A cabinet with a glass door is formed by inserting into the top and bottom walls of the cabinet a hinge part composed of a bushing and two elastic members with projections. Inserted between these elastic members and secured against the bushing by them is a hinge post which is a part of a second hinge part that has a receiving slot. The receiving slot is operative for receiving the glass door which is secured in the pocket by a clamping screw. In this way the door may be easily and quickly installed and removed.

Abstract: The open front of the housing of a cabinet is flanked by a vertical strip having a front surface and a second surface adjacent to the open front and making with the front surface an angle of 90 degrees. The strip carries a door panel one vertical marginal portion of which is coupled to the strip by one or more hinges each having a first leaf recessed into the marginal portion of the panel, a second leaf adjacent to the second surface of the strip, and a bracket which is secured to the strip and supports the second leaf. A first section of the bracket overlies a portion of the front surface of the strip, and a second section of the bracket overlies a portion of the second surface of the strip. The second section has holes for fasteners which connect the bracket to the strip. The two mutually inclined sections of the bracket reduce the likelihood of separation of the hinge from the housing.

Abstract: The side faces of a reciprocable drawer carry U-shaped rails whose flanges are outwardly adjacent to the flanges of complementary U-shaped rails which are adjustably secured to a stationary member of the piece of furniture in which the drawer is installed. The front ends of the rails are accessible when the drawer is moved to a partly or fully open position, and the front ends of the rails on the stationary member can be moved up or down by eccentric worm wheels which are mounted between the flanges of the complementary rails and engage the respective upper flanges. The worm wheels can be rotated by worms which are mounted in the complementary rails and mesh with the respective worm wheels. When a worm is rotated, the corresponding eccentrically mounted worm wheel effects an upward or downward movement of the front end of the corresponding complementary rail, and such rail causes the front end of the associated rail on the drawer to share its movement.
