Abstract: An apparatus for forming a winding for a stator of a dynamoelectric machine comprises a form (3) and a rotating unit (11) for winding a wire (W) around the form (3). The form (3) comprises two form sections (4) which are movable toward and away from each other along a direction orthogonal to the form axis (5). The apparatus further comprises motorized means (37b, 34, 32) for controlling the relative movement of said form sections (4), which can be activated even while the winding unit (11) is being rotated.
