Patent number: 11120250Abstract: A method of determining whether a user of a mobile device corresponds to a previously authenticated user. The method comprises: acquiring a first image from the identity document, the first image being a photographic image and or a digital image; causing a camera connected to or integral with the mobile device to capture a second image, the second image corresponding to a user of the mobile device; comparing data indicative of the first image and data indicative of the second image, whereby to determine whether the first image and the second image represent the same user; and responsive to determining that the first image and the second image represent the same user, forming an association between the previously authenticated user and the mobile device.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 2019Date of Patent: September 14, 2021Assignee: Paycasso Verify Ltd.Inventor: Russell King

Patent number: 10395019Abstract: A method of verifying, by a processing system, whether a user of a device corresponds to a previously authenticated user. The processing system has access to a first image and a second image. The first image is an image of an identity document comprising an image of the previously authenticated user. The second image is an image captured by the device. The method comprises: comparing said first image to said second image, whereby to determine whether they are images of the same user; and, in the event that it is determined that the first and second images are images of the same user: encoding one of the first and second images using a one-way encoding algorithm; and, storing the encoded image as a validated image of the previously authenticated user.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2017Date of Patent: August 27, 2019Assignee: Paycasso Verify LtdInventor: Russell King

Patent number: 9396383Abstract: Systems and method for verifying a user signing a document are disclosed. In particular, certain disclosed embodiments relate to verifying that a user signing a document corresponds to a previously authenticated user, the user having been previously authenticated using a source of machine-readable identity data. The verifying may be made by receiving, from the source of machine-readable identity data, first digital image data indicative of a first image of the previously authenticated user and first identity data, and receiving from a camera, a captured second image comprising second digital image data that corresponds to the user. Responsive to the first image and the second image being determined to represent the same user, verification data is generated and associated with the document.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2015Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Assignee: PAYCASSO VERIFY LTD.Inventor: Russell King

Publication number: 20140294258Abstract: Systems and method for comparing images are disclosed. In particular, certain disclosed embodiments relate to determining whether a user of a mobile device corresponds to a previously authenticated user, the user having been previously authenticated via an identity document. The determination may be made by accessing an integrated circuit component of the identity document, capturing a first image corresponding to a portion of the identity document containing a photographic image of the previously authenticated user, and capturing a second image corresponding to a user of the mobile device.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2014Publication date: October 2, 2014Applicant: PAYCASSO VERIFY LTD.Inventor: Russell KING

Patent number: 8724856Abstract: A method of verifying whether a user of a device corresponds to a previously authenticated user is disclosed. In some embodiments, a processing system has access to a first image and a second image. The first image is of an identity document comprising an image of the previously authenticated user and data identifying the authenticated user. The identity document has been validated by a trusted authority. The second image is an image captured by the device. The first image is compared to said second image to determine whether they are images of the same user. One of the images is designated as a higher quality image, and stored as a validated image along with an identifier for the previously authenticated user. The validated image may be used in a subsequent verification event. The identifying data is be stored with the identifier, whereby to enable said data to be retrieved in a subsequent verification event.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2013Date of Patent: May 13, 2014Assignee: Paycasso Verify LtdInventor: Russell King
