Patents Assigned to PBH, Inc.
  • Patent number: 6743438
Abstract: Optical lenses and methods of preparing the same, in which an active material encapsulated in resin capsules is impregnated in said lens, adjacent an optical surface thereof. The active material may be a coloring material for producing a printed color pattern in the iris or other areas of the lens, or it may be a therapeutic agent.

  • Patent number: 5965330
Abstract: Methods for fabricating annular mask lens for vision correction having diffraction-reducing edges are provided. The lens body having an annular mask that forms a "soft edge" by gradually decreasing the transmissivity radially from the center aperture to the annular mask area. The methods introduce varying levels of a coloring agent (e.g., dye) into certain portions of the lens.

  • Patent number: 5818573
Abstract: An ophthalmic lens inspection system includes an illumination assembly which generates diffuse light and transmits the diffuse light through an ophthalmic lens disposed in an inspection position, the diffuse light having a diffusivity of between 30.degree. and 50.degree.. An imaging assembly generates a set of signals representing selected portions of the diffuse light transmitted through the ophthalmic lens in the inspection position. A moving mechanism supports the imaging and illumination assemblies for common movement relative to the contact lens, to bring a reference point into alignment with the center of the imaging assembly.

  • Patent number: 5662706
Abstract: An annular mask lens for the treatment of optical aberrations such as but not limited to night myopia, spherical aberration, aniridia, keratoconus, corneal scarring, penetrating keratoplasty, and post refractive surgery complication. The lens has an annular mask having an aperture larger than conventional pinhole contact lens. The aperture having a "soft" inside edge and which mask has a gradually increasing transmissivity radially toward the outer edge of the mask.
