Patents Assigned to PCBU Services, Inc.
  • Patent number: 7060165
Abstract: The present invention involves processes that utilize an olefinic compound, in particular, hexafluoropropene (HFP) or chlorotrifluoroethene (CFC-1113) as extracting agents in the purification of pentafluoroethane (HFC-125). These processes can utilize recovered HFP as a precursor for the production of heptafluoropropane (HFC-227) or other derivatives.

  • Patent number: 6610874
Abstract: Processes for the efficient production of chiral amino nitrites are disclosed. Generally, the processes include the esterification of the alcohol of a amino protected alcohol followed by nucleophilic substitution of the ester with a cyano group. In an exemplary embodiment the chiral amino nitrile produced is (R)-3-aminopentanenitrile.

  • Patent number: 6583328
Abstract: A method for the production of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropene, and particularly to a method characterized by high conversion, yield and selectivity by contacting 2,2-dichloro-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane with hydrogen in the presence of a metal-containing catalyst. The 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropene then can be reacted with hydrogen in the presence of a metal-containing catalyst to produce 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane.

  • Patent number: 6365380
Abstract: A process for stereoselectively inverting a chiral center of a chemical compound is disclosed. The process first consists of forming a mixture of the chemical comopund, an enzymatic system, and a metal catalyst. Next, the process stereoselectively dehydrogenates a group attached to the chiral center with the enzymatic system in the presence of an oxidant to produce a dehydrogenated group, Lastly, the process hydrogenates the dehydrogenated group with the metal catalyst in the presence of a hydrogen source to stereoselectively invert the chiral center of the chemical compound.
