    Abstract: The multiple-spindle lathe described has at least two parallel-acting workpiece spindle units mounted to move in the X and Z directions. The spindle units operate in conjunction with fixed workpiece carriers and themselves convey the workpieces to and from a workpiece-turning means so that there is no need for an automatic conveyor to feed the workpieces between the two spindle units.
