Patent number: 12085374Abstract: An ammunition container can include a bottom wall, a first side wall and an opposing second side wall, and a front wall and an opposing rear wall. An interior volume can be formed from the five walls. A top lid can be removably engaged to one of the first side wall, the second side wall, the front wall, and the rear wall, opposite the bottom wall. The lid encloses the interior volume. A first interlocking stacking element can have a first raised protrusion forming a first shape and disposed on the top lid or the bottom wall. A second interlocking stacking element of second raised protrusions forming a second shape on the opposite wall. It can be sized or shaped to interlock with the first interlocking stacking element. The first and second interlocking elements can prevent movement along at least one axis or two axes (i.e. sliding or disengagement).Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2020Date of Patent: September 10, 2024Assignee: PCP Ammunition Company, LLCInventors: Charles Padgett, Robert Lanse Padgett

Publication number: 20160298944Abstract: A high strength polymer-based cartridge casing includes a cartridge body, molded from a polymer, having a first end and an opposing second end, and enclosing a volume. A bullet is removably engaged with the first end and an insert is engaged to the second end. A shoulder portion is located proximate the first end and a propellant chamber formed in the volume. The propellant chamber has a first diameter proximate to the shoulder, a second diameter proximate to the insert and greater than the first diameter, and a linear slope disposed between the first diameter and the second diameter.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 20, 2016Publication date: October 13, 2016Applicant: PCP AMMUNITION COMPANY, LLCInventor: Tony PADGETT

Publication number: 20130014664Abstract: A high strength polymer-based cartridge casing includes an upper component of polymer, a bullet of a standard weight, a lower component of polymer, and an insert. The upper component has a shoulder portion and an upper component inner wall has a first slope extending from the shoulder. The lower component has a lower component inner wall having a second slope. The upper and lower component inner walls form a propellant chamber; and the first and second slopes reduce a volume of the propellant chamber. The reduced volume of the propellant chamber permits only enough propellant to propel a bullet engaged in the cartridge casing at subsonic speeds.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 13, 2012Publication date: January 17, 2013Applicant: PCP Ammunition Company, LLCInventor: Tony Padgett

Publication number: 20120180688Abstract: A high strength polymer-based cartridge casing can include a first end having a mouth and a neck extending away from the mouth. Next, a shoulder extends below the neck and away from the first end. The cartridge can be have a frangible portion capable of being split upon discharge of a projectile. The shoulder can have unequal outside and inside shoulder angles. The casing can also include an insert having a rim at one end or a plurality of ribs extending longitudinally along a wall between the shoulder and the bottom of the cartridge and spaced radially from each other around a circumference of the wall. A projectile can be disposed in the mouth and a relief can be disposed on the neck near the mouth and projectile. The relief can form a gap between the neck and the projectile to receive an adhesive.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2012Publication date: July 19, 2012Applicant: PCP AMMUNITION COMPANY LLCInventor: Charles Padgett

Publication number: 20120180687Abstract: A high strength polymer-based cartridge casing includes an upper component of polymer having a first end with a mouth, at least a wall between the first end and a second end of the upper component opposite the first end, a sleeve extending longitudinally and radially about the wall, and at least one of an overlap portion and an underskirt portion extending from the wall near the second end. The lower component is molded from a polymer and includes at least one of a tapered portion and an outer tapered portion that engages at least one of the overlap portion and the underskirt portions, respectively, to join the upper and the lower components. Further, the sleeve reduces a volume of a propellant chamber formed by the wall. The reduced volume of the propellant chamber permits only enough propellant to propel a bullet engaged in the cartridge casing at subsonic speeds.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2012Publication date: July 19, 2012Applicant: PCP AMMUNITION COMPANY LLCInventors: Charles Padgett, Sy Wiley
