  • Patent number: 9774723
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods that generate and send interactive elements to a plurality of wearable electronic devices are discussed. One or more mobile applications and one or more remote backend servers may cooperate to send information in the interactive elements to one or more instances of a time synchronous application in order to bring different types of content such as timely and relevant data, events, and notifications to a user of a wearable electronic device without the user's intervention to actively retrieve the different types of content. The interactive elements may be generated and sent from any of i) a public application programming interface (“API”) hosted on a server, ii) one or more mobile applications resident on one or more mobile computing devices, or iii) one or more remote backend servers. In addition, these sources may merely send content and commands for the interactive elements to the public API.

  • Patent number: 9763049
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for using contextual information to determine an appropriate response in a system that includes a device paired with an accessory device. The contextual information can be sourced from local sensors, received communications, and information stored on a device within the system. Stored parameters in the system allow flexibility and configurability in evaluating the contextual information. Using feedback obtained after actions taken based on the contextual information allows the system to adapt to better meet the needs of the user.

  • Patent number: 9747001
Abstract: An apparatus, that can be in the form of a wearable device, comprising a display, a memory, and a processor coupled to the display and memory. The processor retrieves a first set of points describing a first vector for a first display element; retrieves a second set of points describing a second vector for a second display element; modifies the first set of points by modifying one or more points in the first set of points to form a modification of the first vector; modifies the second set of points by modifying one or more points in the second set of points to form a modification of the second vector; and sequentially renders in the display the first vector, the modification to the first vector, the second vector with the modification to the second vector, and the second vector without the modification to the second vector.

  • Patent number: 9740740
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and processes are discussed for using metadata to take action on an SMS message on a proprietary system. In some embodiments, a wearable electronic device has a wearable device application that can present an SMS notification from an SMS application of a mobile computing device. The wearable device application can provide SMS notification data to a partner application of the mobile computing device. The partner application can perform a reverse look-up in a contacts application of the mobile computing device and construct a first contacts list with potential SMS-message senders. The wearable device application can present one or more SMS-message actions to a user of the wearable electronic device for a user selection thereof. The partner application can communicate with a partner server, which, in turn, can communicate with an SMS provider to effect the user selection of the one or more SMS-message actions.

  • Patent number: 9408009
Abstract: A wearable electronic device is discussed. The device has a housing and a processor in the housing. The processor can enable the wearer of the device to select different operations from an onscreen display. The device also has a communication circuit in the housing to transmit wirelessly to another device cooperating with the electronic device. The device has a microphone hole penetrating the housing to a microphone, a microphone seal component, and a waterproof material in the housing. The microphone seal component has channels and when compressed against the waterproof material can i) allow sound waves in air to pass through to the microphone inside the housing behind the waterproof material and the microphone seal component, ii) form a water tight seal for the microphone hole penetrating the housing, and iii) provide an air pressure equalization mechanism between internal pressure inside the housing and atmospheric pressure external to the housing.
