Publication number: 20090252349Abstract: A method of limiting the maximum permitted sound volume in an earphone, a headset or the like, includes the step that the size of the driving signal for driving the earphone is sensed. The driving signal has a voltage that is less than approx. 0.7 V. If the driving signal exceeds a certain level, a part of the driving signal is shunted past the earphone. A second part of the driving signal is diverted. Either the voltage of the diverted part is increased and controls the shunt device by which the first part of the driving signal is shunted past the earphone, or it is supplied to a unit with a detector device and the shunt device. The unit is sensitive to work at voltages below approx. 0.7 V. An earphone or the like for the above-mentioned method comprises a shunt device and a detector device whose current source is the signal source of the earphone.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2007Publication date: October 8, 2009Applicant: PELTOR ABInventor: Roger Kihlberg

Publication number: 20090252352Abstract: An ear cup with a bone conduction function comprising a cup (1), a sealing ring (3) and a microphone capsule (5). The cup (1) has an edge (2) on which the sealing ring (3) is disposed. The microphone capsule (5) is disposed in a retainer body (4). The retainer body (4) has an anchorage portion (6) with which the retainer body (4) and its anchorage portion (6) are secured interiorly in the cup. The retainer body (4) has a substantially planar surface for abutment and sealing against the wearer's head in the position of use. In the position of use, the retainer body (4) is located between the sealing ring (3) and the wearer's head, and the retainer body (4) is wholly or partly pressed into the sealing ring (3).Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2007Publication date: October 8, 2009Applicant: PELTOR ABInventor: Niklas Emilsson

Publication number: 20080192973Abstract: “An ear cup which comprises an inner cup portion for the formation of a noise damping space and an outer cup portion for the formation of a space for accommodating electronics, electrical connections and/or a current source. The outer cup portion is fixable on the inner with the aid of a locking member which is insertable in a guide in the outer cup portion. The inner cup portion has a locking recess and the outer cup portion has an aperture. The locking member is placed in the locking recess and the aperture. The locking member has an outer shank and an inner shank. The outer shank is provided with a bulge which engages with a recess in the outer cup portion. The inner shank is provided with a locking portion which engages with the inner cup portion. The locking portion has projections which prevent withdrawal of the inner shank out of the aperture.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2006Publication date: August 14, 2008Applicant: PELTOR ABInventor: Henrik Heringslack

Publication number: 20080187150Abstract: An ear cup with a microphone apparatus including an inner cup portion, for forming a noise damping space, and an outer cup portion for forming a space for accommodating electronics and/or a current source. The inner cup portion and the outer cup portion are separated by a partition. The inner cup portion has a pocket and two opposingly located recesses in which a bracket for a microphone is disposed. Over the microphone, a windshield is provided, this protecting the microphone from being damaged and also damping wind noise. The windshield has an outer configuration that may be seen as a continuation of the outer cup portion, in order to prevent turbulence in the region of the windshield. The windshield is produced from a porous material, which is surrounded by a mounting frame having nap catches for engagement in snap catches.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2006Publication date: August 7, 2008Applicant: PELTOR ABInventor: Henrik Heringslack

Patent number: 6832393Abstract: A safety visor is produced by etching of metal and a grid that defines a large number of light-permeating holes. The safety visor has at least two zones where the holes are of different areas and/or configuration. An upper central zone has greater light transmission than the remaining zones of the safety visor. The C—C spacing for the hole is constant in both the vertical and lateral directions regardless of in which region of the safety visor the holes are located. In one preferred embodiment, the holes are hexagonal with two approximately parallel sides that are longer than the remaining sides and are directed in the vertical direction of the safety visor.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2001Date of Patent: December 21, 2004Assignee: Peltor ABInventor: Jan Folkesson
