Abstract: A bubble trap assembly for critical bioprocess applications. The assembly includes a disposable liner for placing in a fluid stream of a critical bioprocess application. The liner includes at least one gas port disposed on a top of the liner, and at least two fluid ports disposed substantially on the bottom of the liner. The fluid ports are adapted to be coupled in-line to the critical bioprocess application. A rigid vessel is included for housing the liner. The liner being sized to substantially conform to a shape of the inside of the vessel. The vessel includes at least one upper aperture for aligning with the at least one gas port and a bottom opening opposed to the at least one upper aperture. A bottom cap is included, removeably secured to the vessel and closing the bottom opening. The bottom cap together with the vessel substantially enclosing the liner. The bottom cap includes at least one lower aperture for aligning with the fluid ports.

  • Publication number: 20090068032
Abstract: An easily cleaned and/or sterilized fluid pumping assembly including a first pump housing including a first inner chamber. The first pump housing includes a fluid access port adapted to provide fluid communication between an outside of the first pump housing and the first inner chamber. Also, included is a second pump housing having a first coupling flange securely mated to the first pump housing. The second pump housing includes a second coupling flange adapted to be removeably and securely mated to a third coupling flange on a piston housing. Additionally, a flexible diaphragm is provided disposed between the first and second pump housings. The diaphragm is in fluid communication with the first inner chamber. Also, the diaphragm is displaceable by a driven piston for expelling fluid from the first inner chamber. More than one such assembly is used in combination to provide a constant flow fluid delivery system.

  • Publication number: 20080202328
Abstract: One embodiment of the invention relates to a liner for a first pump housing in a fluid pump assembly. The fluid pump assembly includes a first pump housing, a second pump housing and a flexible diaphragm disposed between the first and second pump housings. The first pump housing includes a fluid access port for providing fluid communication between an inside housing chamber of the first pump housing and an outside of the first pump housing. The second pump housing is securely mated to the first pump housing. The second pump housing includes a biasing mechanism for selectively displacing a portion of the diaphragm toward the first pump housing. The liner of the invention includes a flexible member removeably secured inside the first pump housing. The liner also includes a first portion of the member being shaped to substantially conform to the interior dimensions of the inside housing chamber and a second portion of the member shaped to substantially conform to the fluid access port.

  • Publication number: 20080053255
Abstract: The present invention relates to a universal fitting for in-line fluid measurement in a process application. The fitting includes an inlet and outlet port for in-line coupling to the process application. Also, a fluid flow passage provides fluid communication between the ports. At least one sensor housing extends outwardly away from a wall of the fluid passage. Also, the housing is sized to receive a sensor assembly which assembly measures at least one characteristic of the fluid. A base of the housing is integrally formed with the wall and includes a sensor seat for receiving a portion of the sensor assembly. Further, at least one probe aperture is provided for receiving a probe portion of the sensor assembly. The probe aperture is disposed in the wall of the fluid passage and extends from the fluid passage through the sensor seat into the housing.
