Abstract: An anti-spin and drift device and installation method for railway plug type car doors that prevents unintentional rapid rotation of the center door operation handle caused by accidental movement of the door. The anti-spin device rapid rotation in both directions and replaces existing pinion gear assemblies and one-directional anti-spin assemblies that interlink the operational handle with the door operating mechanism that activates multiple crank rod assemblies for opening and closing the doors.

Abstract: A wear guide insert for use in rail car door support carriages for sliding rail car doors. Wear guide inserts are positioned in the wheel carriage openings for intermediate engagement with a supporting track on which the wheel carriages travel. The inserts are of a self-lubricating synthetic resin material that acts as guide bearing surfaces for the wheel carriages maintaining the carriages on the support tracks as the rail car doors are slid open and closed.

Abstract: A lock for railway car sliding doors of the plug type that secures the center bottom edge of the door against unintentional outward movement caused by accidental impact from within the car. The lock is secured to the rail car surface adjacent the bottom edge of the door and is pivoted into door engagement on the center bottom of the door.

Abstract: A rail car crown gasket for rail cars to provide a continuous seal between railroad box car doors and the rail car. The rail car door gasket is of a continuous elongated construction that is secured into a gasket mounting channel in the rail car doors.

Abstract: A box car door seal particularly suited for use on new or reconditioned plug style box car doors having outturned flanges on their outer edges positions an improved elongated flexible resilient gasket for engagement with a sealing surface of a door frame. The elongated flexible gasket takes the form of an elongated flange with a wide base, the flange extending outwardly from the abase in a tapered configuration of a length at least two times the width of the base so as to be able to sealingly engage the sealing surface of the door frame when the box car door is in closed relation thereto and whether or not the box car door is in its normal shape and spaced relation to the door frame or sprung and spaced irregularly with respect to the door frame and particularly outwardly therefrom.
