    Abstract: The present invention describes a flight recorder for an aircraft with an instrument display panel for displaying aircraft status data to a pilot. The flight recorder comprises one or more sensors that monitor one or more flight conditions of the aircraft, a camera unit for providing image data and a data storage unit for storing the aircraft status data and image data from the camera. The flight recorder additionally comprises a control unit for monitoring the flight condition data supplied by the sensors.
