Abstract: A modular wall panel assembly including a modular wall panel and a mounting bracket connected to the modular wall panel. The mounting bracket includes a base configured for connection to the modular wall panel and a pair of parallel side plates connected to and extending transverse from the base. An electrical distribution harness is included with at least one channel at least partially enclosed by the pair of parallel side plates.
Abstract: A modular wall panel assembly including a modular wall panel and a wiring harness connected to the modular wall panel. The wiring harness has a plurality of conductors. An electrical connector is connected to the wiring harness. The electrical connector has a plurality of terminal ports and a transverse axis, two pairs of opposed terminal ports facing opposite directions from the transverse axis, each pair has one terminal port positioned further away from the transverse axis and another terminal port positioned closer to the transverse axis.

Abstract: A power and communications assembly including a housing removably mountable to a worksurface, at least one electrical power receptacle at least partially contained in the housing and an optical splitting device configured to split one optical bi-directional signal into a plurality of additional optical bi-directional signals, the optical splitting device substantially within the housing.
Abstract: An electrical assembly includes a plurality of electrical modules. Each of the plurality of electrical modules, such as power receptacles of a wall panel system, are sequentially electrically connected to at least one other of the plurality of electrical modules. Each of the plurality of electrical modules include a prior module detection circuit that determines a number of modules being connected and is formed to limit the activation of more than a certain number of such modules.
Abstract: A modular electrical component for use in modular office furniture, comprising a housing including a plurality of housing parts, the housing parts being releasably engaged with each other, at least one of the housing parts including a plurality of internal locating features, and at least one of the housing parts including at least one electrical connector port, a plurality of terminals, each terminal being positionable in the housing parts relative to at least one of the plurality of locating features, each terminal having a plurality of ends including one end associated with a respective electrical connector port, and at least one releasable lock, each lock being associated with at least two of the plurality of housing parts and effecting releasable engagement between the housing parts.

Abstract: An electrical distribution system includes a track having a longitudinal extension and a facia. The facia has an elongate slot extending generally parallel with the longitudinal extension. The slot includes a plurality of elongate side channels extending transversely from and generally parallel to the longitudinal extension. The track includes a plurality of electrical conductors, with each electrical conductor being positioned within a corresponding side channel. The plurality of electrical conductors include at least one data conductor. A modular electrical component includes a male connector extending therefrom which is disposed within the slot. The male connector includes a plurality of electrical terminals extending therefrom, with each electrical terminal disposed within a corresponding channel and electrically coupled with a corresponding conductor.
Abstract: A portable storage unit has a body; a cavity in the body; an access opening in the body for providing access to the cavity, and a door which is hingedly fixed to the body for selectively opening and closing the cavity access opening. An extensible member is slidably received in the body and movable between a retracted position and a range of extended positions for securing the unit intermediate a pair of spaced apart surfaces such as a floor and underside of a desk. A spring urges the extensible member resiliently toward the extended positions. The extensible member may be latched in the retracted position and the body has a handle for transporting the unit between sites. Electrical connectors such as communication ports or electrical receptacles may be mounted to the unit along with one or more cords for supplying current to the electrical connectors.
