Patents Assigned to Pentair Pool Products, INC
  • Patent number: 6625833
Abstract: A pool cleaner includes a cleaning body adapted to be coupled to a suction source, a foot pad assembly coupled to the elongate member, and at least one deflection member coupled to the foot pad assembly by an adjustable coupling. The deflection member may be configured both horizontally and vertically relative to the cleaning body.

  • Patent number: 6554939
Abstract: An improved container is formed by attaching plates to outer side surface areas on opposite end portions of a liner with adhesive. The liner is supported for rotation about an axis which extends through the end portions of the liner and through the plates. The liner is rotated under the influence of torque transmitted to the liner through at least one of the plates and the adhesive attaching the one plate to the liner. Flexible material, which may be strands of continuous glass fibers impregnated with a thermosetting resin, is wound around the liner. As the flexible material is wound around the liner, the flexible material is wound over the plates at the opposite end portions of the liner. The surface areas, to which the plates are attached at opposite ends of the liner, are free of openings to the interior of the liner.

  • Patent number: 6491238
Abstract: A rotary spa jet, of the type which comprises a nozzle rotatably mounted within the end of a spa jet housing by a radial ball bearing, is provided with an internal flow guide to reduce impairment of the free rotation of the nozzle caused by debris in the spa water. The flow guide is positioned within the spa jet housing and acts on a portion of the water flow which reaches and flows through the radial ball bearing to flush and lubricate it. The flow guide includes one or more annular baffle walls which deflect water flow which reduce the amount of water that flows through the bearing and slows down its rate of flow to promote settlement and collection of debris before it reaches the bearing.

  • Patent number: 6470509
Abstract: A spa jet of the type which utilizes a nozzle rotor for delivering a rotating jet of water into a spa is provided with a water-lubricated bearing for reducing frictional resistance to rotation. The rotor is supported by an inner bearing which is mounted for concentric rotation within an outer bearing in the housing. The inner and outer bearing surfaces which face each other include cylindrical side surfaces and upstream and downstream end wall surfaces defining a passage. The flow of water to lubricate the bearing surfaces is arranged to exert a net axial force that spaces at least one of the sets of end surfaces out of contact with each other to reduce friction and also lubricates and separates the cylindrical side surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6322004
Abstract: A spa jet comprising a first nozzle, a second nozzle, and an aeration chamber therebetween, are all disposed in a housing. One seal forms a watertight seal between the first nozzle and the housing, and another seal forms a watertight seal between the second nozzle and the housing. A ring is affixed to the second-nozzle downstream end, and a third nozzle is pivotally mounted in the ring. A retainer is mounted to the ring and it frictionally secures the third nozzle in any one of a continuum of angular positions. The ring can be a ball-bearing ring, whereby the third nozzle can freely rotate in the ball-bearing ring under the force of a water stream exiting the third nozzle. A non-circular opening in the third nozzle assists in rotating the third nozzle even when centered in the ring. A barrel, comprising the first and second nozzles and the aeration chamber, has latching tabs formed thereon, and the housing has a retaining profile formed therein for engaging the latching tabs.
