Patents Assigned to Pentalift Equipment Corporation
  • Patent number: 7056077
Abstract: A truck restraint has a carriage movable in a vertical direction along a track between a first lowered position and a second operative position. A fluid actuator moves the carriage along the track between the first and second positions. The actuator is operable, with the hook in the first position, to cause relative rotation between the hook and the track so that the hook is moved from a downwardly inclined position to a generally horizontal position, prior to movement from the first position.

  • Patent number: 6988289
Abstract: A dock leveler has a support with a deck pivotally secured to the support at one end for movement between a stored position and an elevated position. A deck lip is pivotally connected to the deck assembly for movement between a pendant stored position and a bridging position projecting from said deck assembly. A lift mechanism acts on said deck assembly to lift it toward the elevated position and a lip operating mechanism operatively connected to the lip moves it from the pendant position to the bridging position. A latch holds the lip in the bridging position. The latch releases the lip upon relative movement between the lip and the deck assembly and has a yieldable connection to permit limited pivotal movement between said lip and said deck assembly upon application of a rearward force from a vehicle to allow the lip to move to an unlatched position.

  • Patent number: 5722513
Abstract: A scissor lift has a pair of leg assemblies pivotally connected to a base. Relative movement between the legs and the base is opposed by spring assemblies that may be selectively connected to a carriage to vary the bias on the legs. A cam member secured to the leg acts on the carriage to modify the motion between the leg and the carriage to maintain a uniform vertical spring rate.

  • Patent number: 4946330
Abstract: Apparatus for restraining movement of a parked vehicle away from a loading dock comprises an upwardly extending block which is movable from a lower position to an upper position which captures a portion of the parked vehicle to restrain movement of the parked vehicle away from the loading dock. This apparatus provides a safety lock system to ensure that during loading and unloading of a parked vehicle the vehicle cannot accidentally pull away from the loading dock which would result in injury to the forklift truck operator. A linkage mechanism is provided which provides for the raising and lowering of the block. A drive mechanism raises and lowers the linkage in determining the lower an upper positions of the block. The linkage comprises two spaced-apart linked arms which may be in the form of a parallelogram linkage arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4703534
Abstract: A mechanical dock leveller having a ramp pivotally connected to a support frame which is raised upwardly by a spring biased device includes a hold-down mechanism for holding the ramp at any desired raised position. The hold-down mechanism includes a frictional brake which seizes the hold-down for the ramp at its desired elevation. The frictional brake yields when additional upward force is exerted on the ramp, such as caused by truck springs during unloading of the truck. This arrangement avoids damage to the ramp construction and is accomplished by a durable friction braking system which provides for a controlled infinite raising of the ramp due to truck bed elevation.
