Patents Assigned to Pepperl + Fuchs GmbH
  • Patent number: 6429786
Abstract: The invention relates to a sensor and evaluation system for capturing data at a measuring station (3), in particular for use in double sensors for determining end positions and limit values. The individual sensors (1, 1′, 2, 2′, 16, 16′) are operated as sensor pairs (1″, 2″, 16″) by a largely shared control circuit consisting of two connecting lines (5, 6) with an electric current or voltage of alternate polarity. A state of a sensor (1, 1′, 2, 2′, 16, 16′) is transmitted on the corresponding half-wave of the sensor current and evaluated by a switching amplifier (13) in relation to polarity and amplitude. Said sensor and evaluation system reduces the number of connecting lines required. In addition, interference from neighboring sensors is largely excluded, so that sensors can be mounted more closely together in a system. Said sensor and evaluation system is especially suited for equipment required to comply with the DIN 19234 (NAMUR) standard.

  • Patent number: 6346806
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for detecting the position of a magnet which is positioned so that it is moveable (3, 23, 24) to produce a magnetic field (6) through a ferromagnetic wall (1, 29), a magnetic field sensor (10, 21, 21′) being situated in front of said wall. When said magnet (3, 23, 24) is moved in relation to said wall (1), the lines (6) of the field build up a useful flux (6) which progresses in said wall (1, 29). Said useful flux has magnetic remanence (7) which is retained after the magnet (3, 23, 24) has passed by, is aligned along the movement axis of the magnet (3, 23, 24) in accordance with the polarity, and builds up a fringing flux (12) to the front side of the wall (1, 29) where the magnetic field sensor (10, 21, 21′) is positioned. Outside of said wall, the fringing flux (12) is opposed and is aligned with the useful flux (6).

  • Patent number: 6336825
Abstract: An electrical connector is disclosed with electrically contacting contact pins or contact sockets, such as plugs or couplings. The electrical connector exhibits on one side a receiver part. A light-guiding body made of a light-transmitting material with at least one illuminating body is inserted into the receiver part. Feed lines for contact pins are led through the receiver part. The light-guiding body is furnished with at least two arms. Reflection surfaces are furnished for deflecting light coming from an illuminating body into the two arms. The reflection surfaces deflect light into the respective arm and are capable of deflecting the light mainly in axial direction within the respective arm at an angle of from between about 40 to 140 degrees relative to the main radiation direction of the arm. The light-guiding or light-conducting body exhibits a recess below the tip or edge and the illuminating body is disposed in the recess.
