Abstract: A waffle maker having a base and a waffle mold supported by the base. The waffle mold has a first heating plate and a second heating plate, wherein the second heating plate is movable with respect to the first heating plate. A first heating element is arranged on the waffle mold for heating the first and second heating plates. The waffle maker further includes a sensor configured to detect motion in a detection area. A control unit of the waffle maker is in communication with the sensor and the first heating element, such that when the presence of a human is detected in the detection area, the control unit heats the first heating element to a predetermined pre-heat temperature.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides novel sweetener compositions comprising a compound having a structure according to Formula I: wherein R1, R2, R3, and R4 are described herein. Also provided are methods of modulating sweetness profile of a product by adding a compound of Formula I to the product, such as a beverage product or a food product. For example, the compound described herein can be added to increase the overall sweetness of a nutritive sweetener sweetened beverages; decrease the sweetness time-of-onset for high potency sweeteners such as rebaudioside A; decreasing bitter, metallic and licorice off-notes of high potency sweeteners; and improve the sweet quality of sweetened products.

Abstract: This disclosure provides a process for preparing transparent emulsions, in particular emulsions that are free of solvents such as propylene glycol, for use in producing clear beverages.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides sweetener compositions, methods of using these compositions, and foods, beverages, and syrups comprising these compositions. The sweetener composition can comprise a sweetener and a sweetness enhancer. The composition can further comprise at least one supplemental sweetness enhancer and/or a salt.
Abstract: A cartridge adaptor system may include a puncturing device; a nozzle adaptor including: a puncture port configured to receive the puncturing device; a nozzle coupling portion configured to releasably couple to a beverage dispenser nozzle; and a cartridge coupling portion configured to releasably couple to a cartridge containing a beverage ingredient; and a cartridge holster having a receiving portion for receiving a portion of the cartridge. The puncturing device may be configured to puncture the cartridge thereby releasing the beverage ingredient.
Abstract: A dispensing system may be configured to dispense a custom product based on a user selection. The user selection may be provided via a user interface of the dispensing system. The user interface may simultaneously display selectable icons for the available types of products (e.g., types of beverages) and other icons for modifying a chosen product (e.g., a flavoring or additive to a beverage, such as a sweetener or a cherry flavoring). The user interface may receive input from a user in order for the user to select a custom product (e.g., a custom drink) and the dispensing system may dispense the custom product to the user.

Abstract: A cap and container reduce carbonation loss in filling containers with carbonated beverages. The cap has a splashguard with a circular bottom connected by a conical transition to a smaller diameter, cylindrical ring portion. A circular dispersing disk is above the transition and connected to the cap, with a small radial gap between the disk's periphery and the splashguard. A fluid seal is interposed between the ring portion and an open top of the container. The dispersing disk directs a fluid stream outward against the splashguard where the fluid passes through the radial gap around the disk and flows downward in a laminar flow over the conical transition and ring portions. A lip on the bottom of the ring portion extends outward and downward to conduct the laminar flow onto the container sidewall, which is inclined at less than five degrees to maintain laminar flow along the sidewall when filling.
