Publication number: 20110271177Abstract: Systems and methods analyze the physical structure of text rows in a document image, including the positions of one or more alignments of one or more character blocks in one or more text rows of the document image. The systems and methods determine one or more groups of text rows that are placed into a class based on the structures of the text rows, such as the positions of the one or more alignments of the one or more character blocks in each text row. A pattern matching system then determines if one or more classes should be further combined into a combined class.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2010Publication date: November 3, 2011Applicant: PERCEPTIVE SOFTWARE, INC.Inventors: Jose Eduardo Bastos dos Santos, Richard L. Publication number: 20110123123Abstract: Systems and methods automatically generate a model of a form or other document and identify the form or other document. In one aspect, a system and method normalize an image of a document and identify the relative positions of vertical and horizontal lines in the normalized image. The relative positions of vertical and horizontal lines of the normalized image are the model of the document image. The model may be stored in a record, such as an array. The system and method compare the relative positions of vertical and horizontal lines of the model to the relative positions of vertical and horizontal lines of other models to identify a matching model.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2010Publication date: May 26, 2011Applicant: PERCEPTIVE SOFTWARE, INC.Inventors: Jose Eduardo Bastos dos Santos, Brian G. Anderson, David E. Kelley

Publication number: 20100306779Abstract: Systems and methods improve the equitable distribution the processing capacity of a computing device processing work items retrieved from multiple queues in a workflow system. A retrieval priority is determined for each of the plurality of queues and work items are retrieved from each of the multiple queues according to the retrieval priority. The retrieved work items are then stored in a central data structure. Multiple processing components process the work items stored in the central data structure. The number of processing components is selectively adjusted to maximize efficiency.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 29, 2009Publication date: December 2, 2010Applicant: Perceptive Software, Inc.Inventors: SERHAN YENGULALP, Steve R. Kinney, Brian G. Anderson, Scott T.R. Coons, David E. Kelley, Humayun H. Khan

Publication number: 20080126396Abstract: A system and method is provided for implementing a dynamic form using file data retrieved from an external file source. An application executing on a server computer is responsive to a form request received from a user system computer to transform the retrieved file data into a format that includes new input elements. Unique namespaces are assigned to each of the new input elements, and the requested form and transformed file data are transmitted to the user system. The application is configured to create new XML file data that is mapped to the original XML file data in response to a user of the user system inputting data into the form. The new XML file data is compared to the original XML file data to identify missing elements. Missing elements are inserted into the new XML file data, and the new XML file data is stored in a memory.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2007Publication date: May 29, 2008Applicant: PERCEPTIVE SOFTWARE, INC.Inventor: Martin J.
