Publication number: 20240370009Abstract: A method for using time-series data to predict remaining useful life of industrial equipment in cases where limited time-series training data is available is described. The method includes steps of monitoring the industrial equipment to sense historical time-series data associated with the industrial equipment using at least one sensor, storing the historical time-series data from the at least one sensor, accessing the historical time-series data and pre-processing the historical time-series data to extract higher-level features associated with the remaining useful life of the industrial equipment, and applying a jointly trained health predictor to the higher-level features using a computing device by executing a set of instructions from a non-transitory machine readable memory using a processor of the computing device to determine a prediction for the remaining useful life of the industrial equipment.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2024Publication date: November 7, 2024Applicants: Iowa State University Research Foundation, Inc., Percev LLCInventors: Venkat Pavan Nemani, Chao Hu, Carey E. Publication number: 20240210913Abstract: A method for predicting remaining useful life for industrial equipment and associated sensor modules are provided. The method includes monitoring machine sensor data for the industrial equipment in an industrial environment using at least one sensor and applying a two-tier model implemented by a computing device by executing a set of instructions from a non-transitory machine readable memory using a processor of the computing device. The two-tier model receives as input sensor data comprising the machine sensor data and applies physics of failure of the industrial equipment to determine a prediction for remaining useful life for the industrial equipment, uncertainty in the prediction for the remaining useful life for the industrial equipment, and an explanation to the prediction for the remaining useful life for the industrial equipment.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2023Publication date: June 27, 2024Applicants: Iowa State University Research Foundation, Inc., Percev LLCInventors: Venkat Pavan Nemani, Chao Hu, Hao Lu, Andrew T. Patent number: 10914674Abstract: A monitoring and control system includes a stationary body with a sensor, a moving body with a sensor, and at least one computing device. The stationary body is positioned along a path of movement. The moving body moves along the path and physically interacts with the stationary body. The at least one computing device receives signals from the sensor on the stationary body and from the sensor on the moving body. The at least one computing device determines a performance value of the stationary or moving body based on the physical interaction between the moving and stationary bodies. The performance value is dependent on both of the signals received from the sensor associated with the stationary body and received from the sensor associated with the moving body as the moving body interacts with the stationary body.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2018Date of Patent: February 9, 2021Assignee: Percev LLCInventors: Andrew T. Zimmerman, Jerome Lynch, Mohammed M. Ettouney, Sharada Alampalli
