Abstract: The system and method disclosed herein comprise a transmitter circuit and a receiver circuit that are programmed by a system administrator. The transmitter circuit receives audio and visual non-SMPTE formatted data signal via Serial Data Interface that it encodes to prevent unauthorized access. The scrambled and encoded data signal is transmitted to users within a closed network. The receiver circuit decodes the data signal allowing authorized access the data signal.
Abstract: A system for performing signal processing includes a system input, wherein a first signal having a first format, and supplied on a first system input is selected by a user for format conversion. A switching circuit having plural switching circuit inputs and plural switching circuit outputs is provided for routing the first signal, received via a first switching circuit input, to a first switching circuit output. A processor is connected with the switching circuit for converting the first signal received via the first switching circuit output into a second signal having a second format, wherein the second signal is supplied to a second switching circuit input, and output to a first system output via a second switching circuit output.

Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for reclocking a digital time-based signal. An exemplary method includes receiving a digital signal output at a first clock rate. Data transitions of the received digital signal are measured using a master clock having a second clock rate. The digital signal is filtered to determine approximate edge positions of the data transitions. A tolerance is enforced between the approximate edge positions to reconstruct the digital signal. The reconstructed signal is output. The exemplary system for reclocking a digital time-based signal includes an input section, a processor and a reconstruction section.
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for distributing multiple signals having audio and/or video components for processing by an audio and/or video processor, including a chassis having a midplane connection and number of slots for receiving plural circuit boards, where at least one of the circuit boards receives a combination of multiple audio and/or video signals via a common slot of the midplane. The midplane is configured to electrically connect to one or more of the plural circuit boards and distribute portions of the multiple signals to plural circuit boards. The midplane has electrical signal interconnects within it for electrically connecting a first one of the plural circuit boards, when inserted into a first one of the slots, to multiple other circuit boards, inserted in other slots. A video signal received from an external device via the first circuit board is supplied to at least one of the circuit boards for video signal processing.

Abstract: Disclosed is a signal processing method and system for routing audio and/or video data. The signal processing system comprises an input device for receiving audio and/or video data over multiple input paths and for combining the data from the plural input paths into serial data of a serialized data block. A user interface for controlling a reordering of the serial data contained within the serialized data block is included within the signal processing system. The signal processing system also comprises an output device for distributing a first portion of the serial data in the serialized data block to a first output path and a second portion of the serial data of the serialized data block to a second output path.
