Patents Assigned to Peter Fahrni
  • Patent number: 4193700
Abstract: A continuous-flow mixer for applying glue to wood particles used in making particleboard panels includes a rotating drum inclined at an angle to the horizontal and having at one end a glue spray nozzle aligned with the axis of rotation of the drum. Outlet openings are provided at the opposite ends of the drums such that the treated particles are conveyed by rotation of the drum and emerge unimpeded out of the drum via the outlet openings, and trickle onto a conveyor for removal of the treated particles.

  • Patent number: 4186847
Abstract: An apparatus for deflecting a stream of spreadable particles comprises a rotatable hollow cylinder having a perforated circumferential shell through which the particles normally pass. The apparatus further comprises means for controlling the operating conditions of the cylinder whereby the particles fed to the circumferential shell of the cylinder can no longer pass therethrough, but are impelled in a different direction. The method for deflecting the particles comprises the steps of closing the passage openings of the cylinder during its rotary movement, reversing the direction of rotation of the cylinder and increasing the speed of rotation of the cylinder. The spreading operation may be monitored by positioning means for capturing the deflected particles adjacent the periphery of the spreading device. The deflected particles may then be transported by conveying means to an appropriate measuring device.

  • Patent number: 4116163
Abstract: In the manufacture of chip board panels, the chip parts are sprayed with a bonding agent, and in the subject process, a curtain of chip particles of rotational symmetry relative to a vertical axis is first coated with the sprayable binder, after which the particles fall onto a generally horizontal rotating plate, whereby the particles are deflected and slung outwardly where the particles are again exposed to the effect of the spray jet. Thereafter, the particles are deflected downward for further treatment or collected and removed. The apparatus includes a circular particle delivery part for the formation of the rotationally symmetrical curtain, a spray device arranged within the curtain and concentric to it, and a rotating plate supported concentrically to the axis of the curtain particles and spaced away from the feed point of the particles.

  • Patent number: 4065003
Abstract: A mat loading and press-tray unloading apparatus for a multi-level press having a plurality of plates for the manufacture of boards includes a raisable and lowerable structure. A set of loading and unloading levels are connected to the raisable and lowerable structure, each set corresponding in number to the number of press levels. The loading and unloading levels are arranged such that at one end of the structure at least two loading levels are directly adjacent to each other, at the other end of the structure at least two unloading levels are directly adjacent to each other, and at an intermediate portion of the structure at least one unloading level is disposed between two loading levels. The apparatus also includes means for raising and lowering the structure, and means for feeding the levels.
