  • Patent number: 11097932
Abstract: A grapple truck with side loader having a generally J-shaped scoop in a lateral recess of the truck bed sidewall. Sometimes loader is longitudinally truncated forming an adjacent debris-bin vertical transport. The power lift system is either a direct lift-pivot with cylinder lifters or a channel-guided lifter with candy-cane shaped channels. Side loader rises from a low, manual loading position to an upper inverted dump position whereat loader displaces debris into truck bed box. Scoop's loader edge is planarly coextensive or inboard truck sidewall, and at or beneath the truck wheel axis line. A chassis mounted, articulated boom, with longitudinally extending arm segments, terminates in a grapple jaw. The articulated boom and grapple jaw has a longitudinally foreshortened stored position in and above the truck bed. In multiple operative positions, the arm extends beyond the truck bed and rear bed wall and laterally over and beyond truck sidewalls.

  • Patent number: 8079799
Abstract: A lifting apparatus is adapted for use in lifting a container having a pair of channels, each of the channels having a pair of open ends. The lifting apparatus includes an elongated support bar and a hook assembly mounted on each end of the support bar. Each of the hook assemblies includes a pair of hooks and a hydraulic cylinder and piston for rotating the hooks between open and closed positions. The container is lifted by lowering the support bar with the hooks in the open position until the hooks can be rotated into the open ends of the two channels. The hooks are then rotated to the closed position so that the hooks extend into the channels. The lifting apparatus is then raised to lift the container.

  • Patent number: 7866934
Abstract: A loading device can be mounted quickly and easily to a roll-off vehicle by mounting a yoke assembly to the frame of the roll-off vehicle. The yoke assembly includes a pair of attaching potions which extend from the vehicle, and each of the attaching portions is provided with an opening. A pair of hydraulically actuated hooks are pivotally mounted on the loading device. The loading device is pulled onto the roll-off vehicle so that the hooks are adjacent the attaching portions of the yoke assembly. The hooks are then pivoted to extend through the openings in the attaching portions so that the hooks are secured to the attaching portions.

  • Patent number: 7353652
Abstract: A control apparatus is provided for operating six hydraulic valves from two different positions. The control apparatus is particularly suitable for operating the hydraulic controls of a six function trash loader. First and second three-function joysticks are mounted at the first position, and third and fourth three-function joysticks are mounted at the second position. A first set of three rotatable rods extends between the first and third joysticks, and a second set of three rotatable rods extends between the second and fourth joysticks. Each joystick includes a handle which is movable along a first axis for rotating a first rod of one of the sets, along a second axis for rotating a second rod of the set, and about a third axis for rotating a third rod of the set. A crank arm on each of the six rods is connected to one of the six hydraulic valves so that rotation of each of the rods operates one of the valves.

  • Patent number: 5257887
Abstract: A collection container adapted to be lifted and emptied with a grasping device. The container forms an enclosure with two sections each having a projection and being pivotally connected to each other. The sections are held together with a spring. The container includes an opening to receive objects. The spring tension is set so that the grasping device can lift the container by the projections without the section separating. The projections are angled on the enclosure so that if the grasping device were to squeeze the projections together the two sections would pivotally open and dump the objects in a bin. A trough is coupled to a slot on the container to prevent the container's contents from being pilfered.
