  • Publication number: 20050039225
Abstract: This invention is about the functionally hyperactive light signal related molecule, HFR1-?N105, of which the nucleic acids that encode N-terminal 105 amino acid residues were deleted. HFR1 as a bHLH transcription factor functions in a subset of phytochrome A signaling cascade and it was reported to be regulated negatively by COP1. Experiments with a HFR1-?N105 overexpressing plant revealed that the deletion of N-terminal amino acids makes the HFR1 more active in photomorphogenic development such as germination and de-etiolation. In addition, the transgenic plants showed hypersensitive photo-responses in the inhibition of hypocotyl elongation, dependently on another positive element of light signaling, a bZIP protein, HY5. The end-of-day far-red light response and petiole elongation were suppressed in the HFR1-?N105 overexpressing plants. These results suggest that N-terminal region of HFR1 negatively regulate HFR1 function and that HFR1-?N105 is hyperactive.

  • Patent number: 6777493
Abstract: A radial end-modified styrene-conjugated diene block copolymer having a general formula 1. The copolymer is obtained by synthesizing a styrene-conjugated diene block copolymer by way of copolymerization using an organic lithium initiator in the presence of a nonpolar solvent and then coupling the anionic active end of the resulting copolymer with a polyfunctional polysiloxane: (PS-PD)3Si—CH2CH2—[SiO(CH3)2—]nSi(CH3)2R  Formula 1 wherein, PS is polystyrene, PD is polydiene such as polyisoprene or polyisoprene-polybutadiene, R is hydroxy group or -(PD-PS), and n is an integer of 1 to 100. The block copolymer based adhesives have low melt viscosity and excellent adhesive strength.

  • Patent number: 6777499
Abstract: The present invention relates to multiblock interpolymers having the following symmetric structures and processes for their preparation: Y-X-Y, wherein Y represents a block of a random copolymer of conjugated diene and monovinyl aromatic monomer; and X represents a block of butadiene homopolymer, a block of isoprene homopolymer, or a block of butadiene/isoprene copolymer, and processes for the preparation thereof. The present multiblock interpolymers have in the same molecule both a rubber block of random copolymer of conjugated diene and monovinyl aromatic monomer and a rubber block selected from blocks of butadiene homopolymer, isoprene homopolymer and butadiene/isoprene copolymers, and hence possess excellent properties of the both two kinds of rubbers, and can be used widely as integrated rubber materials with excellent property balance, the present processes can simply prepare the above integrated rubber material in situ in a single reactor.
