Abstract: A device for activating a downhole tool is described. The device comprises a first elongate member defining a toothed surface portion, a second elongate member defining a toothed surface portion and at least one pinion arrangement The/each pinion arrangement engages the toothed surface portions of the first and second members such that movement of one member in a first direction results in movement of the other member in a second direction, opposite the first direction.
Abstract: A seal element (120, 126) for sealing a conduit is described. The seal element comprises a frusto conical portion (28) and a first lip (30) extending from an external edge of the frusto conical portion, the lip being adapted to be pivoted into engagement with a conduit surface. In a described embodiment, two seal elements are provided on a plug (10) for sealing a conduit (16), the seal elements facing in opposite directions to seal from above and below.
Abstract: A centraliser (10) for centralising a tubular in a conduit is described. The centraliser comprises a body comprising a upper body portion (12) and a lower body portion (14) and a plurality of arms (16) linking the upper body portion to the lower body portion. Relative movement of the upper and lower body portions towards each other causes the arms to buckle radially outwards into a set configuration in which the arms are engaged, in use, with a conduit.
