  • Patent number: 5361714
Abstract: A sewing machine with a display for displaying basic patterns to be sewn and parameters associated with these patterns. The display is switchable between formats representing different sets of basic patterns and is switchable to a plurality of sequential formats, where each of the sequential formats only displays necessary sequential information for one of the basic patterns and parameters. The display includes a symbol adjacent each of the basic patterns and parameters and the same set of symbols is displayed in each display format. A key board includes a plurality of individual keys which correspond to the symbols on the display. A microprocessor reads the key board to determine which keys have been activated and then changes the display to show the next sequential format when the key corresponding to the symbol adjacent one of the basic patterns and parameters is activated.

  • Patent number: 4761591
Abstract: A device for regulating the RPM of an electromotor with an RPM generator coupled to it for generating pulses, measures the intervals between the pulses of a measure of the RPM of the motor. The device includes an oscillator for generating clock signals, which are transmittable to a counter, which counts the number of clock signals between successive pulses of the oscillator, a register, which accepts the counter indication and a device for generating a control value for correcting the RPM of the electromotor over a digital-to-analog converter connected in series to the motor. To generate the control value for regulating the RPM, and RC network containing a manually adjustable control resistance is provided, the capacitor of which can be short-circuited by a switch, which can be activated by an oscillator-driven contact mechanism. The capacitor is additionally connected to a circuit element for switching on the counter, whose switching off can be activated by the oscillator-driven contact mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4751888
Abstract: A pulse generator for a sewing machine drive, having a shaft revolving synchronously with the main shaft of the sewing machine. The pulse generator shaft is connected with two support elements which carry a strobe disk provided with control segments of bright and dark zones, the strobe disk extends between pairs of light emitting and light receiving components. The strobe disk includes a first partial disk non-rotationally connected with one support element and a second partial disk arranged adjacent and non-rotationally connected with the other support element, the angle regions of the mutually correlated bright and dark zones of the control segments of the two partial disks differing from each other, one support element being rotatable relative to the other support element, so as to change the bright and dark zones of the strobe disk.

  • Patent number: 4638752
Abstract: A sewing machine has an electronic control for the production of at least one stitch pattern consisting of a plurality of different single stitches, with a read-and-write memory RAM for storing in memory at least the single stitches of the stitch pattern and with a feed mechanism whose feed adjustment occurs by a step motor controlled in accordance with the stored data of the read-and-write memory within the inactive phase of the feed mechanism. To carry out a feed variation exceeding the maximum number of steps of the step motor between two predetermined sewing stitches, the control unit contains a comparator which compares the magnitude of the displacement amount of the step motor before the next displacing movement is carried out with a given maximum displacement amount, in order to prevent a stitch formation between the point of insertion of the previous stitch and the desired point of insertion of the next following stitch when the maximum displacement amount is exceded.

  • Patent number: 4625667
Abstract: In a sewing machine with a microcomputer controlled step motor for the control of the magnitude and direction of the feeding action of a cloth feeder, the microcomputer is connected, via a buffer and a D/A converter, to the non-inverting input of a comparator which controls the turn-on and turn-off as well as the current intensity of each phase winding of the step motor and whose inverting input is connected to a discriminating element disposed in the phase circuit, for the step setting correction and for the torque intensification of the step motor. To adapt the correction possibilities to the step motor parameters, the D/A converter has four input stages whose biggest stage is connected to the corresponding output stage of the buffer via a voltage divider.

  • Patent number: 4527496
Abstract: A sewing machine with spooling equipment. For a spooling operation, an armshaft of the sewing machine can be disconnected from a motor drive of the machine. Through a pulse generator for delivering pulses, the armshaft is coupled to a circuit for controlling the speed of the sewing motor. The circuit comprises an operational amplifier designed with a feedback network. To permit an automatic switching of the operational amplifier to regulation or control sewing and spooling, the feedback network of the operational amplifier comprises two resistance members connected in parallel, of which one can be disconnected by a switch which is controlled by the pulse generator. To simplify the switching, the switch is designed as an analog switch whose control line is connected to the output of a control circuit having one end connected to a starter resistor to which the operational amplifier is responsive, and its other input connected to the pulse generator.
