Abstract: A literature assembly providing for verification of a plurality of leaflets of first and second types by inspecting only one leaflet of each type. The literature assembly includes a first leaflet secured to an assembly of leaflets, the assembly of leaflets including a plurality of integral and detachable leaflets. The first leaflet includes a first identifier and the assembly of leaflets includes a second identifier. Preferably, the first and second identifiers are electronically readable identifiers corresponding to information imprinted on each of the first and second leaflets, respectively. Each of the leaflets of the assembly of leaflets may be verified by inspecting a single panel of the assembly of leaflets.The assembly of leaflets includes a single sheet folded about a first fold line and about a second fold line transverse to the first fold line. The sheet is divided by the first and second fold lines into at least four panels. The second fold lines define respective second leaflets.

Abstract: A label product including a release liner having an upper surface and a booklet disposed on the upper surface of the release liner. The booklet includes an outer piece including a top panel and a bottom panel joined by an outer fold, an inner piece disposed between the top and bottom panels having a pair of interior panels joined by an inner fold, attaching means coupling the outer and inner pieces to one another at the outer and inner folds, and a tear line formed in the bottom panel adjacent the outer fold. A layer of adhesive is interposed between the bottom panel and the upper surface of the release liner.

Abstract: A method for forming a unitary assembly of a plurality of unitary, multi-panel, folded leaflets. Opposed end edges of the leaflets are positioned adjacent one another. A first continuous adhesive coating is applied, preferably by spraying, onto first end edges of the leaflets and portions of the leaflets adjacent the first end edges and a second continuous adhesive coating is applied, also preferably by spraying, onto second end edges and adjacent portions of the leaflets. In a method for forming a plurality of the assemblies of leaflets, a divider bar is inserted between selected leaflets prior to application of the adhesive coatings such that at least two leaflets are disposed on either side of the bar. Upon removal of the divider bar, portions of the adhesive coatings are removed from between the selected leaflets. Also disclosed are an assembly of booklets and a method for forming the same.

Abstract: A label for displaying information regarding a container and suspending the container from a support, and methods for forming the same. The label includes a base label having a base adhesive on the lower surface thereof. A connector strip is secured to the upper surface of the base label along a longitudinal edge by at least one adhesive patch. A hanger is secured by the legs thereof to the connector strip. The hanger is foldable between a stored position wherein the hanger lies adjacent the upper surface of the base web and a hanging position wherein the hanger is folded away from the base label for receiving the support through the opening. A remaining portion of the upper surface of the base label is not covered by either of the connector strip and the hanger when the hanger is in the stored position. The label may further include at least one removable self adhesive secondary label forming a part thereof.

Abstract: Labels for displaying information and particularly well suited for automated application to containers having curved outer surfaces, and methods for forming the labels. The labels each include a multipanel leaflet, a laminate cover and adhesive for securing the label to the container. In certain embodiments, a leaflet adhesive patch is disposed on a lower surface of the leaflet and a laminate adhesive underlies a portion of the laminate cover extending beyond the leaflet. An adhesive-free gap is defined between the leaflet and laminate adhesives. In a further embodiment, first and second leaflet adhesive patches are disposed on lower surfaces of the leaflet. An adhesive-free gap is defined between the first and second leaflet adhesive patches. In each embodiment, the respective adhesive-free gap facilitates proper application of the label to the curved container surface.

The package may be produced using a support web, a web of double coated tape, a web of transfer tape, or a release liner and a self-adhesive laminate. Unique nip rollers are disclosed for over-laminating the pouches and for guiding the web with pouches thereon for packaging.

The label includes a base label having a lower surface. A base adhesive is disposed on the lower surface for affixing the label to the container. The label further includes a hanger having at least two interconnected legs defining an opening therebetween, each of the legs having a respective end. Each of the ends of the legs are secured to the base label. The hanger includes at least first and second superimposed layers. The layers are preferably formed of polymeric film. Preferably, the first layer has a tensile strength greater than the second layer and the second layer has a tear resistance greater than the first layer.

The label includes a bottom panel, a top panel overlying and connected to said bottom panel along a first fold line, and at least one interior panel connected to one of the bottom panel and the top panel along a second fold line. Each of the bottom panel and the top panel have a marginal portion extending between the first fold line and an adjacent edge of the interior panel. An access tear line is formed in the marginal portion of the top panel. Preferably a second access tear line is formed in the marginal portion of the top panel and spaced apart from the first access tear line, defining a tear strip therebetween. A marginal extended flap may extend from one of the top and bottom panels. The label may further include a laminate cover overlying the top panel.

The web of double coated tape includes a release liner having an upper surface and a carrier having an upper surface and a lower surface. The carrier is releasably secured to the upper surface of the release liner by the first adhesive layer and the outserts are positioned in spaced relation to one another along the web.

Abstract: A label construction formed of a first bottom panel with an adhesive backing for affixation to a pharmaceutical container, and a second series of panels in the form of a folded leaflet attached to one edge of the panel, and a third panel attached to the other edge of the bottom panel. The cover panel contains product identifying indicia on a primary portion as well as an indicated marginal area affixed to the container and separated from the primary portion by a tear line. The marginal area provides a place for the pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturer to place statutory information relating to lot number and expiration date. The leaflet formed of the second series of panels is separated from the first bottom panel by a perforated transverse fold line. The bottom panel contains substantially the same label indicia as the cover panel without the indicated area for the statutory information. The leaflet panels are folded together between the first and third panels.

Abstract: A label construction formed of a first bottom panel with an adhesive backing for affixation to a pharmaceutical container and ad second series of panels in the form of a folded leaflet. The first panel contains product identifying indicia thereon as well as an indicated area for the pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturer to place statutory information relating to lot number and expiration date. A second panel is separated from the first panel by a transverse fold line. The second panel contains substantially the same label indicia without the indicated area for the statutory information. A plurality of further panels which contain printed instructional information are attached to the second panel and folded together between the first and second panels. The second and successive panels are separated from the first panel by the consumer along a tear line situated between the first and second panels and become a folded literature leaflet.
