Abstract: The present invention relates to a hair care composition which includes a volatile hydrocarbon-containing component; a non-volatile hydrocarbon-containing component; and an oil-soluble polymer component. The present invention also relates to a method for forming a hydrophobic barrier on hair to render the hair substantially resistant to moisture absorption which includes treating wet or damp hair with the hair care composition and applying heat to the treated hair. The hair care composition and method of the present invention is effective to reduce hair frizz and maintain a desired hair conformation.
