Abstract: A container (2) for a disc (4) having a center hole (6) comprises a bottom section (8) having a bottom (10), upright side walls (12), a rear wall (14) and a front wall (16), and a cover (18) which closes the bottom section at the top and which is held in a closed position by means of a cover lock, the upper side of the bottom section carrying an elastic peg arrangement (22) to retain the disc in its center. In its center the front wall of the bottom section has a front wall recess (24) and the cover lock is situated near the front wall recess.
Abstract: An optical recording system wherein the record carrier is pre-recorded with adjustment information indicative of the waveform of the write signal (V.sub.s) to be employed for recording an information signal (V.sub.i) thereon. The recording apparatus includes a read/write head for reading the adjustment information before recording, and a control circuit for deriving the write signal (V.sub.s) from the information signal (V.sub.i). The control circuit includes an adjustment circuit which selects a write signal waveform in conformity with the adjustment information read from the record carrier.

Abstract: Cassette has a bottom section a pivotable cover section, and a tray which is constructed to be inserted into the bottom section and to hold a disc at its outer edge by means of at least three retaining elements arranged on the tray. One of the retaining elements is movable, and transport protection is provided by a latching element arranged on the cover section, which latching element latches the resilient retaining element in its normal position when the cover section is in its closed position.

Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a mould and providing it with a backing, the mould is derived from a parent information carrier by an electroforming process, after which electroforming process and prior to its separation from the parent information carrier the mould is provided with a backing. In order to reduce the cycle times and to improve the mechanical stability, the backing is formed by a UV-curable lacquer which is applied in liquid form and is distributed over the back of the mould, which is subsequently cured by exposure to ultraviolet light.

Abstract: The invention relates to a machine comprising an apparatus for assembling a container for an optically readable disc-shaped information carrier. The container comprises a bottom section, a cover section, a bottom insertion-card, a cover leaflet, and a tray. The disc-shaped information carrier is detachably retained in the tray. During assembly the bottom section serves as an assembly base. In order to load the disc-shaped information carrier into a tray without the remainder of the container, the machine is provided with an auxiliary bottom section which is secured to the apparatus and in principle has the same dimensions as a container bottom section, so that a tray can be placed in the auxiliary bottom section and after it has been loaded with a disc-shaped information tray, can be removed as a unit from the auxiliary bottom section.
