Abstract: Information carrier, device for reading and device for providing the information carrier and method of transmitting picture information. The disclosed system comprises an information carrier (1) on which an information signal is recorded that represents picture information intended for being displayed on a picture screen, which picture information comprises video information of a video programme as well as control information for selectively displaying the video programme. The video programme is subdivided into sections (35) and, when the video programme is displayed selectively, sections are shown in a new order (34) and partly omitted or replaced. To this end the control information includes path information (36) which indicates a path of sections to be displayed in linked fashion. The path information may be recorded multiplexed with MPEG-2 video information and then contains addresses (53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59) for forward and backward jumps.

Abstract: The invention discloses a method for coating foil comprised of nickel or a nickel alloy by sputtering a layer comprised of a metal compound on the foil in a vacuum. The foil is treated in an argon plasma with a pressure of 1031 3 to 10−2 millibar, for a variable time with a variable rate, and with energy of the plasma ions. A chromium oxide layer or a layer containing chromium oxide is successively sputtered by means of a reactive magnetron atomizing of at least one target comprised of chromium or an alloy containing chromium. The layer is sputtered with at least one atomization source in an argon-oxygen mixture with a pressure of 10−3 to 10−2 millibar. The operating point is constantly maintained in given boundaries and the foil is bonded in a defined thermal contact with a thermal buffer when the foil is being coated. The foil is coated until a given interference color pertaining to an interference of a first or second order is reached on the foil.
Abstract: A method and a circuit configuration for operation of a bus system. A bus includes a bus control unit which controls only an arbitration and when time is exceeded during a data transmission. An actual data transmission is determined in a respective active master unit and an addressed slave unit. A characteristic of a bus cycle, such as a data length, access to a data area or a control area and a waiting cycle, is transmitted in encoded form through a multiplicity of control lines.

Abstract: A preamplifier circuit for a computer data storage system disk drive read/write head (or HSA) includes multiple test modes to enable electrical testing of the preamplifier, the read/write heads, and associated circuitry without physically probing the components or circuitry. Communication between the preamplifier and a host controller provides for test mode selection and test mode enablement within the preamplifier. Testing occurs using only the normal interface connector to the head disk assembly (HDA) in which the preamplifier and HSA are embodied. Properties such as electrical resistance, ESD, preamplifier bond wire connection integrity, head bond wire and solder joint integrity, and connections from the head slider to the preamplifier leads are all tested. Testing occurs without probing to provide efficient, reliable, and cost effective manufacturing and testing benefits of the read/write heads, flex assembly, HSA, and HDA.
Abstract: Producing a printed circuit board having at least two layers and having a carrier board, a first Conductor layer having contact areas and a second conductor layer having connecting areas, in which a conductive foil, provided with an adhesive coating, is laminated onto the carrier board having the first conductor layer and the contact areas, the adhesive coating an the conductive foal having holes which correspond with the contact areas of the first conductor layer.
