  • Publication number: 20190182931
Abstract: A lighting system controller, a lighting system control method and software program product are provided for controlling a lighting device based on a trigger signal, such as a presence detection signal from a presence sensor. Instead of switching the lighting device to a fixed light setting at all times when the trigger signal is received, the initial light output of the lighting device is determined. The lighting device is then controlled according to a fixed light setting (e.g. white light at full brightness) if the determined initial light output is within a predetermined range, and else it is controlled according to a function relative to the determined initial light output. For example, if the lighting device is participating in a romantic scene emitting predominantly red light the lighting device may switch to reddish white light instead of the full white light and/or the brightness level of the light is lowered compared to the fixed light setting.

  • Patent number: 10321528
Abstract: This invention describes a system and method to provide a service to advertisers and businesses that enables adaptation of advertising priorities using information collected by a lighting infrastructure. The system uses outdoor lighting networks to manage/control data sensors connected to a network, e.g. hosted at lighting units. This invention enables new business scenarios where operators and/or owners of the city's lighting infrastructure can provide a value added service or generate revenue from ad providers and local businesses by leveraging the data acquired through the lighting and adjacent infrastructure (e.g. sensors) to help the businesses to increase their advertising performance/targets; particularly, with respect to Location Based Services (LBS).

  • Patent number: 10305236
Abstract: A lighting track support structure comprises a base section and opposing side sections. These sections are rollable for transportation in a roll. This means the length of the structure (when unrolled) may be longer than would be able to be transported in a straight configuration. This reduces (or eliminates) the need for connectors between multiple sections. This therefore reduces the time and cost of installing the lighting track.

  • Publication number: 20190099668
Abstract: A game lighting controller detects implicit triggers in the video games, each based on analysing audio and/or video content output during gameplay and/or an effect on one or more players invoked by the content. Each implicit trigger corresponds to a respective one of a set of predefined event types. Based on detecting one of these triggers in a video game, the controller identifies an event occurring within that video game as being of a certain one of the predefined event types. The controller also reads metadata specifying a classification of the video game from amongst a set of predefined classifications. Based on identifying the event as being of the particular predetermined type, and in dependence on the classification of the video game specified in the metadata, the controller controls illumination emitted by one or more luminaires to produce a lighting effect to accompany the first event during gameplay.
