  • Patent number: 11906099
Abstract: A method of sealing the interstice in double-walled pipe includes the steps of applying a first sealing piece to an inner pipe of the double-walled pipe, wherein the first sealing piece covers a portion of the circumference of the inner pipe; and applying a second sealing piece to the inner pipe of the double-walled pipe, wherein the second sealing piece covers the remainder of the circumference of the inner pipe. The method further includes the step of attaching the first sealing piece to the second sealing piece forming a sealer; wherein the sealer is disposed in an annular space located between the inner pipe and an outer pipe. A sealer configured to seal an opening between pipes in a double-walled pipe includes a first sealing piece having a rounded cross-section with an attachment portion configured to engage a corresponding attachment portion disposed on a second sealing piece.

  • Patent number: 11603498
Abstract: In an aspect, a method of decontaminating a hydrocarbon fluid comprises applying an ultrasonic wave to the hydrocarbon fluid in a storage tank to maintain or reduce an amount of a microorganism in the storage tank; wherein a source of the ultrasonic wave is located within the storage tank and the storage tank has at least one of an inner volume of greater than or equal to 20 meters cubed and/or that is capable of storing 55 to 160,000 liters of the hydrocarbon fluid. In another aspect, a method of decontaminating a hydrocarbon fluid comprises applying an ultrasonic wave to the hydrocarbon fluid to disrupt a cell membrane of a microorganism to form a disrupted microorganism and to reduce a particle size of the disrupted microorganism to be less than or equal to 1.5 micrometers thereby forming a clean hydrocarbon fluid suitable for injecting through an injection nozzle.

  • Patent number: 9034252
Abstract: In an embodiment, a fuel decontamination unit comprises a decontamination region containing fuel; and an ultraviolet light located in the decontamination region; wherein the ultraviolet light is configured to irradiate the fuel. In an embodiment, a method of decontaminating fuel comprises flowing a contaminated fuel into a decontamination unit; irradiating the fuel with ultraviolet radiation that is emitted from the ultraviolet light such that the contaminated fuel becomes a purified fuel; flowing the purified fuel out of the decontamination unit; wherein a microorganism level in the purified fuel is less than that of the contaminated fuel.

  • Publication number: 20140055625
Abstract: Implementing compliance management includes displaying a checklist of inspection items on a display of a mobile communications device at an inspection site of an entity. Each of the inspection items is mapped to a corresponding compliance code governing environmental regulatory requirements for operation and maintenance of the entity. The compliance management also includes receiving a user response indicative of an inspection condition for each of the inspection items. The user response is implemented via an input control on the mobile communications device. The compliance management further includes transmitting user responses over a network to a centralized database system. The centralized database system provides web-based access of the user responses to the entity over the network.
