  • Patent number: 7095464
Abstract: A liquid crystal display of transmission type comprises a light source, a polarizing film, a liquid crystal cell and another polarizing film in this order. An optical compensatory sheet is further provided between the liquid crystal cell and the polarizing film on a light source side or between the liquid crystal cell and the polarizing film on a display side. The optical compensatory sheet comprises a transparent support and an optically anisotropic layer. The optically anisotropic layer contains a discotic compound having a discotic plane. The discotic plane is inclined from a surface of the support surface at an angle. The angle varies along a direction of depth of the optically anisotropic layer. The liquid crystal display has a difference in chromaticity (?Cuv) of 0.05 or less. The difference is measured between an image seen frontally and an image seen rightward or leftward at a viewing angle of 60°.

  • Patent number: 7095438
Abstract: An image signal processing device of the present invention includes an RGB-YC conversion for converting color component signals output from a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) image sensor to luminance signals and components thereof lying in a high frequency range. The luminance signals and their components lying in a high frequency range are fed to a first, a second and a third low pass filter (LPF), respectively. Luminance signals output from a third LPF are fed to an adder while components lying in a high frequency range are fed from the first LPF to a selector. Further, the components output from the second LPF are fed to the selector via a resolution correcting section. The selector selects either one of the two different kinds of components input thereto. The adder adds the luminance signals output from the third LPF and the components selected by the selector and thereby outputs second luminance signals.

  • Patent number: 7095430
Abstract: In an image exposing apparatus and an image exposing method, a deterioration of an image quality caused by stray light is suppressed, while both a sensitive level and a non-sensitive level are properly set in accordance with a type of photosensitive material. In the image exposing apparatus, a recording level setting unit calculates a recording level corresponding to a light amount level stored in a recording level light amount memory and sets the calculated recording level. A non-recording level setting unit calculates a non-recording level from an extinction ratio, which corresponds to a type of photosensitive material stored in a photosensitive material information memory, and the recording level. An output voltage setting unit sets an output voltage such that a detected voltage becomes equal to one of the recording level and the non-recording level.

  • Patent number: 7095433
Abstract: There is disclosed an optical printer for printing a grayscale image on a self-developing type photo film unit based on image data. A printing head of the optical printer is provided with a plurality of light emitting elements arranged in a line along a main scan direction whose lighting time lengths are controlled for each pixel in accordance with a tonal level of that pixel. The printing head is shifted relative to the photo film unit in a sub scan direction perpendicular to the main scan direction, to print the image line by line. During each printing cycle of one line, drive voltage applied to the respective light emitting elements are raised with time from an initial value according a predetermined characteristic curve, to increase luminance of the respective light emitting elements as the lighting time for each pixel elapses.

  • Patent number: 7095039
Abstract: Reference signal components obtained in an initial state from outputs of photoelectric conversion devices of a line sensor having received reference light produced by a reference light source are stored. The line sensor is caused to receive the reference light at a stage immediately before image readout is performed. Sensitivity signal components are acquired from the outputs of the photoelectric conversion devices having received the reference light at the stage immediately before the image readout is performed. The sensitivity signal components and the reference signal components are compared with each other, and sensitivity correction signal components for making a correction for variations in sensitivity among the photoelectric conversion devices are obtained. A correction of the output signal components, which are acquired from the photoelectric conversion devices during the image readout, is made with the sensitivity correction signal components.

  • Patent number: 7095921
Abstract: An optical fiber of a bundled fiber light source is an optical fiber whose core diameter is uniform but whose emission end cladding diameter is smaller than an incidence end cladding diameter thereof, and a light emission region thereof is made smaller. An angle of luminous flux from this higher luminance bundled fiber light source, which passes through a lens system and is incident on a DMD, is smaller, i.e., an illumination NA is made smaller. Thus, an angle of flux which is incident on a surface that is to be exposed is smaller. That is, a minute image formation beam can be obtained without increasing the image formation NA, focal depth is lengthen.

  • Patent number: 7095437
Abstract: An electronic camera automatically suspends the power supply when an external storage medium is detached, and automatically resumes the power supply when the external storage medium is attached. This eliminates the necessity of operating a power switch when the external storage medium is detached and attached. The power supply to a memory card interface and a memory card is suspended upon detection of the start of the detachment of the memory card while the main switch is ON. This protects the memory card and data therein, and reduces the waste of power in the camera while the memory card is detached from the camera. The power supply is resumed upon detection of the attachment of the memory card to the camera. If a predetermined period has elapsed since the power supply is suspended while the memory card is not attached from the camera, the main switch is automatically turned off.
