Abstract: A photodetector assembly for ultraviolet and far-ultraviolet detection includes an anode, a microchannel plate with an array of multichannel walls, and a photocathode layer disposed on the microchannel plate. Additionally, the photocathode may include nanowires deposited on a top surface of the array of multichannel walls.
Abstract: A Compton tomography system comprises an x-ray source configured to produce a planar x-ray beam. The beam irradiates a slice of an object to be imaged, producing Compton-scattered x-rays. The Compton-scattered x-rays are imaged by an x-ray camera. Translation of the object with respect to the source and camera or vice versa allows three-dimensional object imaging.

Abstract: Profilometers for industrial metrology and other applications are described. A line is projected on a surface to be profiled. The line is scanned to build a three dimensional point cloud allowing the three-dimensional (3D) profile of the surface to be determined. In some embodiments, the line is projected by a laser system. In other embodiments, the line is projected by a digital micromirror device (DMD). In still further embodiments, multiple lines, or other patterns are projected.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a removable memory unit (RMU) that facilitates concatenation of said memory modules irrespective of their individual physical interfaces, enables encryption/decryption keys (including cryptographic ignition keys (CIKs)) to reside onboard the RMU, provides for physical separation of RED and BLACK data in cross-domain environments and implements zeroization functionality onboard the RMU. Further embodiments provide a swappable IO backplane and adapter plates for incorporation into a wide variety of platforms.

Abstract: A measurement gauge, comprising a pair of jaws biased in a closed position; a normalizing member surrounding one of the jaws when the pair of jaws is closed, the normalizing member biased in an extended position; a handle coupled to the pair of jaws and normalizing member such that movement from an extended handle position to an retracted handle position opens the pair of jaws and moves the normalizing member to an retracted position.

Abstract: Systems and methods for interest (ROI), or Frame Segmentation can be provided within a video stream, in real-time, or within a few milliseconds of video frame duration of 30 msec, or even in the sub-millisecond range. This video frame segmentation is the basis of Pre-ATR-based Ultra-Real-Time (PATURT) video compression. Additionally, morphing compression, and watermarking can be based on the PATURT. Example applications of the PATURT include ROI-based real-time video recording in “black-box” devices, recording aircraft accidents, or catastrophes.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention relate to WRAs that implement removable memory units (RMUs). The ability to load operational, maintenance, and mission data through RMUs is critical for avionics platform safety and logistics. However, due to strong hardware dependence, universality, or rather platform-invariance is not currently available for aircraft data acquisition (including the real-time recording of new performance, operational (flight) and environmental data) or mission data loading via prior art WRAs.

Abstract: A multifacet mirror comprises a catoptric structure configured to reflect light from a first field of view onto an image plane comprising a plurality of sensors, the catoptric structure having a surface comprising a plurality of facets separated by a plurality of catoptric regions; wherein a facet of the plurality of the facets has a second field of view that is smaller than the predetermined field of view; and wherein a catoptric region of the plurality of catoptric regions between two facets of the plurality of facets is configured to reflect light from a world point within the first field of view onto two of the sensors of the plurality of sensors.
