Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for optimizing the layout or siting of a set of wind turbines in a wind farm. Embodiments optimize the specifications of a structure in situations in which the structure is operated when placed into a fluid or gas flow. Further, embodiments optimize the arrangement and/or operational conditions of an ensemble of such optimized structures (or of a set of deployable turbines with associated configurations) to maximize a performance metric or similar constraint. For a wind farm comprised of an ensemble of wind turbines, the operational condition may be that of maximizing output of the wind farm subject to a specified set of environmental conditions at a wind farm site and a set of wind turbine specifications or configurations.
