Patent number: 6710751Abstract: A tower, an antenna platform and a mounting assembly for rotatably mounting the antenna platform to the tower. The mounting assembly includes tower mounting members for attaching the mounting assembly to the tower, platform mounting members for attaching the antenna platform to the mounting assembly, and rotational members to facilitate rotation of the antenna platform about a longitudinal axis of the tower. The mounting assembly enables the antenna platform to be set at any desired position about a 360-degree azimuth. The rotational members include a ring and the ring includes ring segments. If three ring segments are used, the mounting assembly enables rotation of the antenna platform along a 120-degree arc while the platform is connected to the tower. The platform mounting members are attached to the ring between the segments thereof. Centering clamps are provided to maintain centering of the platform about the longitudinal axis of the tower while the rotational members are being rotated.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 2002Date of Patent: March 23, 2004Assignee: PiRod, Inc.Inventors: Daniel J. Patent number: 6563475Abstract: A mounting assembly for affixing an antenna platform or mounting arm to a pole. The mounting assembly includes a plurality of clamps for positioning about the circumference of the pole. The preferred embodiment uses three clamps and each of the clamps has a pole mounting surface contoured to mount securely to a variety of pole circumferences. The mounting assembly also includes a plurality of interconnection members extending between the clamps for securing the clamps to the pole. In the embodiment shown, each of the clamps includes a pair of identical spaced apart side plates. The side plates include connecting extensions for attachment of the interconnection members. The clamps include reinforcing plates attached to the connecting extensions, and the reinforcing plates having apertures for receiving the interconnection members. The mounting assembly also includes a middle support plate attached to and interconnecting each pair of side plates.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2001Date of Patent: May 13, 2003Assignee: PiRod, Inc.Inventors: Daniel J Ianello, Thomas N Strantz

Patent number: 6561473Abstract: A pipe mounting clamp assembly for mounting a pair of pipes to one another. The assembly also includes a bracket, and at least one pair of fasteners. The bracket has a base, and at least one saddle member attached to and extending from a surface of the base. In the preferred embodiment, the saddle member has at least two different radial support surfaces for supporting pipes of different diameters. The support surfaces are knurled or ridged to provide a good grip of a pipe supported thereon. In one embodiment of the invention, the bracket has two saddle members, two pairs of elongated slots, and two pairs of apertures in the base. One of the fasteners is secured to the base through the apertures and the other fastener is secured to the base through the elongated slots. The major portion of one fastener extends above the surface of the base from which the saddle member extends, and a major portion of the other fastener extends from a surface of the base opposite the surface supporting the saddle members.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2001Date of Patent: May 13, 2003Assignee: PiRod, Inc.Inventor: Daniel Ianello

Patent number: 5787673Abstract: An antenna support for mounting one or more antenna on a support structure such as a tower. The antenna support includes a framework mountable to the structure, and an antenna mounting support assembly coupled to the framework. The antenna mounting support assembly is configured to mount the antenna in a fashion to be adjustable in a multitude of directions relative to the support structure, such that the mounted antenna may be tuned by an installer by adjustments in these directions.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1994Date of Patent: August 4, 1998Assignee: PiRod, Inc.Inventor: Myron C. Patent number: 5333436Abstract: This invention relates to an improved modular antenna pole and to a unique and novel method of joining the pre-fabricated sections which, when assembled, constitute the pole. The pole is comprised of a series of cylindrical sections of decreasing diameters having flanges so designed that the bottom flange of a next succeeding higher section, secured to the outside of the cylindrical section, mates with the top flange of the adjacent lower section, which flange is secured to the inside thereof. Consequently, the pole may be "tapered" from bottom to top in progressively smaller incremental steps rather than by tapering each successive section.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 1992Date of Patent: August 2, 1994Assignee: PiRod, Inc.Inventor: Myron C.
