Abstract: Motorcycles are provided which include a frame, two front steering wheels, a steering pipe rotatably connected to the frame and rigidly connected to two supporting assemblies, one for each front steering wheel and a steering group consisting of two pairs of transversal arms—upper front, lower front, upper rear and lower rear—arranged inverted at the opposite sides of a central steering pipe and laterally connected through two lateral posts. On each of the supporting assemblies the fixed portions of two telescopic elements may be constrained. Each pair of telescopic elements may be cantilever-mounted with respect to the steering wheel.

Abstract: A motorcycle suspension that includes a fork hinged to a portion of a frame of a motorcycle, a damper unit positioned between the frame and the fork, that damper unit having at least one spring and at least one damper so as to permit a relative rotation of the fork in relation to the frame around at least one hinge pin. The suspension including a load sensor to measure the load weighing on the damper unit, and a control unit operatively connected to the load sensor. The control unit is operatively connected to a regulation means of the damper unit so as to vary the setting of the regulation means depending on the load signal received from the load sensor, so as to adapt a pre-loading of the spring and the damping of the damper to the load effectively weighing on the damper unit.

Abstract: A motorcycle suspension comprising a fork having a steering bar suitable for connecting mechanically to a steering mechanism of a motorcycle, an oscillating bar having a first end at which it forms a junction with said steering bar, and a second end at which it connects to a support which houses a rotation pin of an associable wheel so as to turn, said rotation pin defining a rotation axis for the wheel itself. The suspension comprises a shock absorber unit which extends from an attachment head, at which it is mechanically connected to the steering bar, to an attachment foot, at which it is connected to the support. Advantageously, the shock absorber unit, at the attachment foot, connects to the support by the interposition of mechanical coupling means having a hinge axis which is contained in a plane perpendicular to the rotation axis of the wheel.
Abstract: A chain-tensioning rod, for an internal combustion engine with an overhead camshaft valvetrain to keep in tension a timing chain, includes a shoe, which is pressed against the timing chain, and a supporting arm of the shoe, allows a simple assembly of the arm and of the relative shoe because the shoe is formed by a monolithic piece having, on one side thereof, a sliding surface and on, the opposite side, a supporting surface and a contact element connected to the supporting surface by a longitudinal central rib; and the supporting arm is formed by an elongated sheet having a longitudinal pass-through slit extending from a distal end thereof, wherein it is open, so that insertion of the supporting arm on the supporting surface takes place by making said rib to slide in the slit, the rib operating as transversal locking device of the supporting arm on the supporting surface.
Abstract: Suspension group for motorized vehicles comprising a main spring which extends between a first and a second end of the group, a main damper connected in parallel to said main spring said main spring being pre-loaded by pre-loading means which together press the spring in compression and impose a rest length thereon, namely the length assumed by the spring when there are no further external loads on the first and/or on the second end of the group except for the pre-load caused by the pre-loading means, wherein the first and second end are connected kinematically to a first and a second mass of the motor vehicle respectively, the first mass being a mass suspended by the suspension group and the second mass being a non-suspended mass.

Abstract: A continuously variable transmission system for a motorcycle includes a first drive sheave (12) operated by a transmission half-shaft (14) and a second driven sheave, connected by a V-belt. The drive sheave (12) has a first half-sheave (16) and a second half-sheave (18) substantially conical, sliding axially aligned, joined in rotation. The first half sheave (16) is fitted internally with a speed regulator composed of centrifugal masses (20) which move to cause the axial shift in the direction of extension of the transmission half-shaft (14), of the first half-sheave (16) relative to the corresponding second half-sheave (18). A device (10) for regulating the gear change curve is provided with an electromechanical actuator to cause selective intervention of a determined group of centrifugal masses (20) to vary, for the same number of revs of the engine, the centrifugal force needed to achieve the axial shift of the first half-sheave (16).
Abstract: An adjustable saddle for motorcycles including a padded upper portion which constitutes the seat for the rider and/or the passenger of the motorcycle, and a substantially rigid bottom portion suitable for resting and attaching the saddle to the chassis or to the frame of the motorcycle. The bottom portion of the saddle at least one aperture is made for access to a respective compartment made inside the padded upper portion and is destined to receive one or more inserts or devices suitable for varying the height of the seat and/or the level of comfort for the rider and/or the passenger of the motorcycle. The aperture is made at the seat of the rider and/or passenger and is provided with a removable cover plate.

Abstract: A real-time drive assistance system and method are provided. The system includes a centralized architecture capable of determining and preventing, in real time, potentially dangerous road situations, increasing road safety. The system is based on a communication network obtained through specific portable mobile communication devices exchanging information related to the state of a plurality of vehicles in motion along a road network. The method includes periodical acquisition and sending of the information to a centralized processing unit using the wireless communication system of each portable mobile communication device; processing of the information in order to verify the occurrence of potential dangerous situations for the drivers of each vehicle; and sending of warning or danger signals to one or more of the portable mobile communication devices that can alert the drivers of the vehicles.

Abstract: A method is described for the automatic management of the energy autonomy of a vehicle, and includes receiving a signal for indicating a distance and/or a path to cover, and dividing the distance and/or the path into space intervals; calculating an allowable variation of energy capacity in a space interval based on energy capacity detected by the sensors and on variation laws of the energy capacity; determining limit conditions for the speed and/or acceleration of the vehicle, on the basis of a map, chosen among a plurality of maps of speed-acceleration-variation of energy capacity; generating a regulated instantaneous torque request on the basis of the speed and/or acceleration detected by the plurality of sensors, of the determined limit conditions for the speed and/or acceleration and of the instantaneous torque request generated by the first central control unit. An electronic system capable of implementing such a method is described.
